Hi All
Has anyone pursued the issue of gated security with MLH & Interlaken, and if so what was the outcome? We've got nowhere.
Having completed in December (almost sorted some minor snagging, and really enjoyed the summer out there inc shopping for furnishings- must be a girl thing!!), the issue that really stirs us in to wanting to take action (what form not sure yet) is the absence of the gated security per MLH's spec. This was an important feature for us when we purchased; it puts the development into a different bracket and provides the essential safety aspects.
Happy to discuss via PM if preferred.
Regards,
Andrew & Jane

Andrew & Jane,
FYI
We have a meeting with the Casares Town Hall, in early September to fully understand their interpretation/expectation of what is to be eventually implemented by Interlaken i.e. gated community, security etc. We will also attempt to gather information on the security measures to be implemented within the surrounding complexes, if Town Hall approval has already been granted to the surrounding developments then we should encounter little or no resistance. We also need clarification regarding our complex boundaries, if we are to implement the gated entry ourselves etc……. and understand the town hall’s expectations regarding access into our complex etc…. Once we have this information we can then review and implement dependant on cost, future security measures etc.

Thank you for the update Peter.
MLH have just emailed me to say that as far as they know, gated security will be installed next year when the hotel is finished. I've asked for a better level of assurance that this work will definitely take place.

Jane

I've noticed on one of the posts (can't recall which) a reference to the fact that the bins have been resited to 'near the aparthotel'. Can anyone tell me exactly where they have been resited?
Thanks

Just further up towards hotel on left hand side which makes it central for everyone. Hopefully by next year they'll be more than one lot of bins for more convenience and they'll also be hidden.

Dear all,
Find below the Town Hall A&Q concerning gated security. Full Town Hall Meeting Notes now published on google portal;
· We have been advised that regulations of the Casares Town Hall require that there is public access into our complex; resulting in four other entrance/exit roads to/from the site. Two are located at the North Border and provide access to the El Cortesin Hotel and golf development, and two are located at the South Border providing access to the Majestic residential development. When will these entrances be opened, what if any, entrance controls could be applied and why is the public access necessary?
Town Hall Response: The Town Hall confirmed that public access is required in/out of all Casares developments, allowing free movement between the complexes. They are attempting to create a costal community consisting of all residential areas. The roads leading into the El Cortesin Hotel and the Majestic residential development will remain closed for Health & safety reason while building works continue.
· Could the Town Hall please clarify whether Interlaken will construct, secure gated entrances for the Casares Del Sol and Casares Del Sol Suites complexes, similar too those already under construction or implemented in the surrounding developments i.e. Majestic, El Cortesin Hotel. We currently only have perimeter fencing in the boundary with neighbouring developments. We have been advised that at some stage in the future a Security Hut will be built at the main entrance and the cost will be borne by Interlaken. Could the Town Hall provide an update concerning any timescales or dependencies i.e. main road improvements affecting the future Security Hut construction? Please also clarify the CDS complex boundaries.
Town Hall Response: The Town Hall confirmed that secure gated entrances would not be allowed as gates would restrict public access. They confirmed that the gates on the Majestic security house were being removed at the request of the Town Hall. The Town Hall agreed to supply the original submitted CDS building plans to Ammex to allow us to check whether a security house has been planned.
· Could the Town Hall clarify the security options available to our community? If public access is required, could they provide advice and guidance on how the community would best provide adequate security measures to protect the properties. For example would we be allowed to erect fencing around each community within CDS, similar that already implemented in the neighbouring Majestic development?
Town Hall Response: The Town Hall advised that permission would need to be obtained from them prior to the installation of fencing around each community within CDS. Ammex were therefore requested to obtain fencing quotations and then submit these to the Town Hall for approval in readiness for next years AGM. The approved proposals including costs will be published prior to the AGM and associated vote. The Town Hall also advised that a satellite Town Hall office was being constructed to the back of the Esso garage; this would include a Police point. The Town Hall believed that this would improve their current services including policing, for the Casares costal community, expected completion is summer 2009.

Dear All,
This authorities policy decision to allow only open public urbanisations must have been known to all, developer, agents and lawyers. Therefore they must have known that their combined efforts to sell a closed holiday complex without planning permission was simply fraudulent.
Is there any translation of the actual planning consent obtained available including the date it was obtained?
Surely basic information can be shared - tell it like it is should be the rule here.
Regards
Norman

You can go to the town hall yourself and pay 30 euros and get a copy of the plans. tTen you can see how it is for yourself. I was there at the meeting with Peter &linda and they have reported exactly how it is.

Dear Jenny,
thank you,
unfortunately I am not there and have no Spanish, I have already offered to assist, including financial assistance, to any group who has the will and where-with-all to take recovery action against this developer / promoter for the deception that I and others feel we have suffered.
My offer to Peter has been ignored to date, who, whether instructed or not, seems to be perpetuating the owners only secrecy embargo.
My query is simply was there ever at any time a planning consent for the closed holiday complex that was sold to me and others.
As I have already made clear, I personally have never had any interest at all in buying on an open public urbanisation, akin to a sort of council estate, or indeed on any sort of mixed use estate. My interest was only and specifically in a closed full holiday complex.
Surely that is not too much to ask of the owners, those people like yourself who decided to go ahead and complete regardless.
Regards
Norman
