Having returned last night from Casares del Sol, I can advise that building work at CDS Suites has most definitely NOT stopped. Anyone who has visited recently will confirm that the tower cranes are in constant use Monday to Friday and that the workers cars are once again a pain in the backside.

The buildings are advancing and hopefully, if I get a chance, I will upload some photographs in the next few days.

I have only just returned from CDS after a fantastic long weekend.  The building work appears to have slowed down but it is still evident, lots of builders on site. 

Maintanence men wandering around and some gardeners too, the grass appears better and I believe things are looking up.

Life guard on duty by the pool that was clean and very pleasant.  I plan to return in the next couple of weeks fro a longer break and I am really looking forward to it.

Hold out - things are improviing - I am sure it will be a very good investment in the next couple of years when everything has settled a bit.

Can I thank those who confirmed work on the CDS site is continuing.  Being in Uk and reading some of the posts you start to worry what is going on.  I thought 'oh no not more bad news' when intial reports came through.

However, I would support those with a positive attitude.  The owners group are taking direct action to make things right, and there appear to be some sound, level headed contributions from such as Ianmack. I am sure it will be an excellent facility if owners can work together to promote positve outcomes

As the saying goes 'accept what you have to accept & change what you can change'

Ive also had confimation from people in the area that work is continuing albeit slightly slower but this could be due to holidays and it is really hot over there at the moment and this would affect the amount of work done.

I'm over there for a long weekend and will have a look to see what sort of manpower they have on site to see if its realistic with regard to their build program.

Just to repeat for new subscribers what I reported back in April, according to the MLH/CDS site office the Interlaken offices will be demolished this Autumn and the site cleared for start of work on the commercial centre and leisure facilities, both on the one site. Also building work on CDS is scheduled to be complete by April 2008.

I have just returned after spending a great weekend on our complex and did indeed manage to get onto the CDS Suites site to have a look around and take a few pictures.  Most of the superstructures are built and therefore a lot of the work is now inside hence the lack of people working outside. I noticed quite a lot of units have been plastered inside and all the electric and plumbing preperation work has been done on the units waiting for plaster which is a good sign that progress is to be maintained.

They appear to be working to a mode we call in the UK of  "Building to Sales" which means they are just going steady whilst the sales pick up. In other words why rush to complete 200 units when you have only sold 50. But the main thing is there are teams of workers on site plodding away at a steady rather than rushed pace.

On a note of caution though and i dont want to be pesimistic, but i dont think they will achieve the completion in spring 2008 as stated earlier by CDSS.  I would think September 2008 to be more realistic but at least most of the noisy work is done and its not like youre going to get the pounding of piles being driven in as all that type of work is complete.

The building at the far end of the site (near block 26 Pm3) is the reception area for CDSS and not the sports complex as someone had mentioned earlier. I have also found out that CDSS have changed their website and now dont give details of Apt sizes and Jan the sales guy has gone and a new guy is in the sales office on site.
