I've just returned after a short weekend break on Casaers del sol . We has a great time .The gardens had improved since out last visit 8 weeks ago however there is still a long way to go.

The new sun beds had arrived for all the pool areas and all the pools were in use by a small number of people. the life gaurds were all in situ.  I had my first dip in the pool onPM4 and can only say it was wonderful to have a swim at last.

I meet Amex  ( Javier )  on site  and discussed some issues including the 2 dumped cars -  these will be removed in the next 14 days with the help of Amex.

Miguel Angel had said he  would arrange for them to be moved and that was last Novemer 06 ,  I asked again February and again in April . I went into the interlarken offices and Anna maria Larios advised me to call the polive myself, explaining that it it was outside her house she would call the police. I said I expected the community president 9 she is actually names as community president) or Interlarken to do it and she said it wasnt thier responsbility - bloody cheek. If it was the gated community that was promised it would not have been dumped there in the 1st place.

The watering system on PM4 was been adjusted with the watering equipment being repositioned on the grass area . I looked around the rest of the site and there are improvement but it is such a vast job onPM2 & PM3. However there was evidence that areas were beeing worked on and steady imporovement has been made.

Javier advised that new top soil would be needed to get good growth but it could not be all done at the same time. I will write and clarify his intention in this area.

We had no problems with our electricity or water supplies or garage door lift all was working .

OBVIOUSLY there is still some snagging item that remain on our apartment  -well what do you expect with Interlarken and Med lux homes.

Ill try to post some pictures by the end of the week.

I cannot wait to go back

We have also just returned from a two day visit to CDS where we had a great time enjoying the good weather and meeting up with the neighbours we had met before. It was beautiful sitting beside the pool; it was so blue and clear.

We still have some problems with damp in both apts, mainly under the patio doors, but Steve Garrot from Paint Busters is going to inspect it and see what he can do.  Steve has been amazing in the help he has given us.  Not only did he paint out the apts in a washable paint but he also installed electric roller shutters for our patio doors. These have been super and so easy to use. The shutters keep the heat  of the sun out during the day and stop the lounge curtains fading. We also noticed that the windows stay clean from one visit to the next.

We noticed that the gardens are improving slowly but the lawns really do need leveled out with a lot more top soil added. The sprinklers have not been placed in the right spots;  when lounging at the pool or going along the walkways we were being soaked. The buildings are being drenched in places, so much so that the paint is beginning to go stripy and the grout between the tiles is being washed out along the front of the blocks. If this continues the tiles will begin to fall off.

The site has potential. We like being there and look forward to returning in  July.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WEEKEND - SOUNDS IDEALIC

You only needed a match to one of the dumped cars and you could have had a bonfire party - just like home.

You are absolutely right there is a lot to do but what can you expect for the few pennies you paid.

Keep up the good work everyone things can only get better - if you keep pumping the money in.

Regards as always

Norman

Norman - when you live in "the garden of England" what on earth inspired you to risk your hard-earned funds in a building project on "scrub land" in a foreign country renowned for it's 'tomorrow' culture and where UK building regs don't apply ?  You are surely far too intelligent not to have researched it properly ?  Were you so naive as to believe everything the salesman told you without checking it out ?    It all sounds rather speculative to me (maybe you thought you'd make a quick buck) and by definition speculation is a form of gambling; sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

You're a loser because the reality seems to have fallen so far short of your expectations.  I'm a winner, along with many others who bought with their eyes open and knowing that there might be a few surprises along the way. We (personally) bought for a bit of excitement and a home in the sun to run away to whenever we get the chance. It's just different from here and an escape from the dreary English weather in the winter.  If we get our money back in the future when we sell it will be a bonus. I'm sure I worked just as hard as you for my money, probably harder, so no quips about money to burn please.

Now please be a good chap and stop being such a bore. Resist the urge for further sarcasm in your postings. Get some therapy perhaps.  I used to find your postings amusing but they are so frequent and predictable that now boredom has set in, sometimes even annoyance. Don't turn me into a grumpy old man as well.
