We noted with the layout of our bathroom, the bath is right next to the basin unit, and you have to be careful what type of screen you buy - as there isn't room to swing it outwards. We're looking for a folding / sliding one to take that problem into account.
I was given the contact details of someone in Los Alcazares who does plumbing and bath screens - but of course it's at home and I'm now at work!
If you buy the screen through the furniture store, they will fit it won't they?

Spent the afternoon yesterday walking around HR in the glorious sunshine. Delighted with our purchase! The views are amazing! Pool, lake, golf course, mountains as far as the eye can see... Fantastic!
Very happy with how things went during the trip. Found all the furniture we liked at Inside Right Espana (on the way to Murcia, next exit after PW headquarters follow signs to Roldan and go left to Poligono Ind, they're on the right after the Indian restaurant). Highly recommend them. Excellent service. Couln't be happier!

The exit to Roldan is before La Torre when you go to Murcia, it is the one after you go past PW headquarters. If you're coming from LT it's just one exit away - not counting camino de servicio - found it confusing as on their address it says Torre Pacheco and we asked people in Balsicas and they gave us wrong directions to PW industrial estate, and again there, 2 Spanish women on their ciggie break outside PW Homestyle - probably employees - sent us towards Torre Pacheco... Should have known better. (I speak Spanish by the way). In the end I called IR Espana and they gave me directions. It really is easy to find, just follow signs to Roldan. Can't miss it!

Hi Everyone
Just a brief note to say that we have now completed on phase 5 and we are delighted with our purchase. We are in 5b Mejorana with stunning views right down the length of the course - wonderful! Snagging was no problem and only revealed minor problems (in common with most who have posted messages on the forum). I haven't heard anything re the unitilities being connected but I didn't expect too much due to the Xmas and New Year holidays. I'll be chasing this up early January as we are going back over on 22nd in order to get the furniture installed, locks changed etc.
Completion was fine, (give or take a couple of hitches!) and any queries we had were handled quickly and pleasantly by the Polaris staff. However, it is obvious that they have employed young, good looking representatives to deal face to face with disgruntled purchasers ~ maybe they think that we would be more reluctant to shout at a pretty young girl! The answer we kept getting was "I will just go and check with my colleague". I am sure there will be a few of you out there that can relate to this!
All in all our expectations were in fact exceeded. The apartment layout is much more spacious than we anticipated. It is small, but not nearly as cramped as I thought it might be. The terrace is bigger than I expected and also there is more garden space which we intend paving. But the best of all is the view. I see the pylons on the lake have been removed which is very good news. Also, on the left of our terrace we see the old Hacienda which, in a modern built up resort, gives a feeling of permanence. I for one hope that the planners take real care to preserve the integrity of this building as it is absolutely beautiful and will be a major feature of the entire resort..
Roll on January when we can get back to our beautiful apartment!

Hi Fellow Golfers
we have just come back from staying at the Hacienda for 3 nights to check out our furniture which we brought as a package. we are very pleased with our purchase . We decided not to have a dining area and use the patio furniture for eating and have ordered Glass Curtains to enclose the terrace in the winter. ( we have this in another apartment and they are wonderful) . This has made our lounge a very good size. We have found ourselves an excellent key holder who has been brillant in getting things organised. We have arranged for our shower to be glass in as a wet room and have a air extractor fiitted. If anyone wants any recomendations get in touch. We found Polaris very helpful and with a previous experience in Costa del Sol this purchase has been a lot easier than we thought it was going to be despite the delays which are normal for spain.
once the facilities get opened I think we will all be very happy with our Apartments , it`s definitely the best Polaris Development.
bets wishes
Terri

Hi Terri,
glad to hear that the completion went well for you. Where did you get your furniture? Did you shop around much, if you don't mind me asking? Have you arranged for property insurance yet? Any news on planning for the Hacienda yet. Are there any facilities on site yet? Has the resort next door opened yet and if so have they facilities? Sorry for all the questions but it is interesting to get some feedback from someone who has been on the ground.
Thanks
Kevin.

I was out there two weeks before Christmas and allegedly they are working in the Hacienda but it was still fenced off. I was led to believe by PW that it will be at least 12 months before they start serious work on the town centre facilities. They expect to have some small club house (portacabin?) open in March/April when the first 9 holes of the course open. The development next door is open as is their course. I understand that there is a reciprical agreement that allows residents of HR to use the bar and restaurant but I suggest you check this out.
I shopped around for furniture while I was over there and while there are good deals to be had if you have to time to order from a variety of shops we have chosen to go with Inside Right who seem to offer good vfm in terms of quality and service. We both work and are limited in the amount of time we have to get out to the apartment so getting a package and having it installed is the best option for us. We will be able to stay in comfort when we are out at Easter. The PW property insurance through Zurich seems as good as anything for year 1.
I think we'll all enjoy the complex which seems to be the least dense in terms of properties per m2 compared tothe other developments I have seen.

Hi everyone
Please can anyone tell me if the swimming pool and communal areas are finished yet on Phase 5. We are due to complete in just over a weeks time and I wondered if we will be able to use them.
Many thanks

Hi All
Just posted some photos of phase 5, which were taken Sunday just gone, for those of you who have purchased on there, so you can see where things are at. Still somewhat of a building site at present, but pool now fenced off and some of the hard surfacing done.
I enquired at the sales office, when things are likely to be ready. Was told the golf course will not open until April time, this year and not starting on the Town Centre until this summer and not expected to be open (presumably first bars / restuarant) until next summer 2009.
Hope this help those of you who were wondering.
Les

Hi guys,
I have just been informed that the second snag has been completed and all is well. However I am told that electricity and water are not connected. We signed at beg of December, is it really taking 3 months to get utilities connected? We have not been over as yet to see the place, anyone that has please advise if it would be safe to bring young kids with us, 3 and 1, or is the place basically a building site? Is it far to the development next door and are the facilities good there, how far to the nearest town and how far to the beach?
Thanks
Kevin

I was out last weekend (23 Feb) and like you completed in Dec. My apartment has gas and water meters fitted but electricity yet to be. The mains water and electricity available in my block but not yet live in the apartment! PW customer services assure me they will all be on by the end of the next two weeks; I truly hope so as we are coming out to stay for the first time at Easter.
They are still building on the site but depending where your apartment is there may be no real issues. Some of the children's play areas look to be available. The pools aren't yet available nor is the golf course. However, two of the other PW sites are less than 15 mins drive (full facilities) and the beach is less than 30 mins (if that).
Sucina is the nearest town but there's not too much there you will need to go further afield for a good sized supermarket. Murcia or Los Alcazares seem to be the best bets. Some local bars and restaurants not too far from HR.
Hope this helps, good luck.
George

Hi
In answer to your questions I was up at HR today leting a furniture company in to one of our customers and noticed they are puting up a couple of sun houses / portacabins next to phase 5 to act as a temporary refreshment bar/cafe not sure how good it will be but all helps its at least something in the short term.
Also don,t forget you,v got the Peraleja Golf right next to us , that has a beautiful bar and restaurant which is open to everyone very reasonable and looking over the golf course

I wouldn't worry too much about safety as PW have closed off all the areas where building is still going on.
Most of the pools have now been cleaned and some filled - depends on how hardy you feel!!
As for facilities, Sucina has two small supermarkets (one English), hardware shop - which sells most things, including TVs - a lovely bakery, chemist, Tabac, a couple of bars, garage, petrol station and a few restaurants. The nearest good sized supermarkets can be found in San Javier which is 15 minutes down the road, 5 minutes from the Mar Menor.
