LONG TERM RENTAL WANTED - ROJALES/BENIJOFAR/QUESADA

I’m not sure if anyone is experiencing this but I had an invasion of ants in my apartment (ground floor) I have taken care of them but when I look outside and around the building I see an army of them. This is happening in other blocks and around the pool area. I have also seen some of these ants making their way the walls to the upper apartments. Maybe it is not an issue not for anyone who is currently there but for those who are away keep that in mind. It got to the point that ants were coming out of the bedroom electrical socket.

We had a terrible problem with ants when we rented in DV in July, we had to keep both patio doors closed all the time and kept washing the patio daily.

No surprises - they are attracted by food.

One day this summer  I was at the large pool and noticed an army of ants marching along under my sun bed in the joint between the tiles.

I followed the trail  for about 10 meters.   The ant trail led along to the pool life guard's  lunch bag.   They were stealing his lunch !!
I alerted him to his plight.

These were dark, almost blacks ants.

Later that day on my balcony I noticed some smaller red ants.  These were few and  randomly roving about. But I guess if they discovered food
on the balcony they would be soon an army of them.

You can buy ant  powder down at the 'hardwear store in Sabi - near the roundabout.

I like ants they clean up the garden after we have had a BBQ. If we have too many I put an ant disk in the path they are using, available from DIY places in Spain about 4 euros for 2.

When I have ants coming into the house usually though the patio doors, Icheck the silicone sealant has not been damaged about the frame, if it has they wll get in that way.

If they trail over the patio step I just wipe some sun lotion or olive oil along the front edge of the step (not the upper as you may slip) They don't like either and before you ask I use factor 15 and any grade of olive oil.
