Hi

We'll be in DV for a week from 13th November if you need any extra people to put pressure on AEA.

For what good it will do, I have just e-mailed Melisa to put forward our concerns.

We are due to complete on a property and have found the comments on this forum very useful, thank you to all.

Are the electric shutters on the bedroom secure and if so fittng them to the lounge would that help? or are they too flimsy?

Its a few weeks since we last visited and we are a concerned about security.

Redcastle,

Have you taken a look at the main doors on the DV appartment.  I was very impressed by them myself.  I've also looked at the blinds.

It seems that, from another posting, that someone broke through one of those doors !!

If they can break through one of those main doors  then breaking the exterior roller blinds would be like cutting through paper in comparison.

Alarm systems seems to be the best policy.

My thinking is that AEA  could negotiate a bulk  discount for alarm installations that DV owner can call off.

regards,

Paul

The shutters are made of soft aluminium a double layer with the inside filled with foam. The are only for light removal and some sound insulation.

A good stanley knife would cut through them or even pulling them out of the track by hand, I had to fix my blinds after a break in, the burglars justed pulled them apart.
