Official numbers of the National Office for Rentals

Hi all those engaged in withdrawing from the Country club.

Just got back from 6 months stay in Mojacar withdrawing from the club. Engaged a top local obligado solicitor costing 3000 euros and he got our two bank guarenteed deposits and plot reservation fee back in 10 weeks. Total 56000 euros.

Huma indicated we would have to take em to court to get compensation and I could not be bothered. This excercise has cost me some £8000 over the last 3 years and there comes a point?  During our 6 months in Spain we learned many things and we wont be buying in Spain thank you. Most agents/solicitors believe those with bank guarentees will be safe but if the site is not built others will lose everything. A lot of locals dont think the site will be completed for a long time,if at all. I do hope they are wrong for all your sakes but believe I am well out of it.

As I have no further interest in Spain I will shortley be resigning the site but will continue for a short time for those that feel I can further advise.

I too want to withdraw now from ACC after 3 years of waiting. My solicitor Aldea Advisors is ignoring all phone calls,e-mails and letters from me - so I'd be grateful if you could let me know the name of the solicitor with whom you had such success.

Like a lot of people I have contacted Huma by e mail, fax and letter and not had the courtesy of a single reply!

Had reply from aldea today giving me options but they haven't had much success with Huma either by their own admission

One thing to remember, when cancelling, is that you are no longer a revenue source for Huma, therefore, you will only get stressed if you expect them to act as quickly as you would like.  They have your money, and they will only return it when it suits them.  Try getting your money back from 99% of companies worldwide and you will get the same response.  If you're in a hurry - you want your money returned before Huma can sell your plot to someone else at the same price or higher - then you are going to have to take them to court (or at least be prepared to go to court).

I think you make a very valid point there re Huma holding money until they have re sold the plots !!

and that's exactly what I think is happening. Huma are now just waiting (and waiting!!) to over come the final hurdle with junta and license then go for the re sales.

Most people wanting a return of monies are unfortunatley caught up in that trap.............. it's all about cash flow..........
