Just to opne up this issue again. I have just returned from our apartment at AA Resort where satellite dishes are fitted. The way it seems to work is that the first person pays the full installation cost of 600€ or so to have a dish, digibox and feed (a quad lnb will be fitted to the dish). Thereafter, everybody that comes along afterwards and requires a feed, pays the dish owner a connection fee (not sure how much as we couldn't find the owner of the dish on our roof, but about 50€- 100€ so I believe). Once the four connections are full, another dish needs to be erected. There are octo lnb's, but apparently they don't provide a strong enough signal on all 8 outputs and can be problematic.

So as you can see, so long as the installation is done well, aesthetically, they are not too obtrusive.
