Hi Keith
Not sure where phase 5 is to be honest. We only went there once for a couple of hours - it was a flying visit - literally, we looked at a lot of properties and different areas over a few days.
Yes it is very autumnal now but not that cold. Looking forward to christmas break.
Are you moving to Spain or just using the apartment for holidays?

Hi Pauline,
We thought we would dip the toe and rent the property out for a while and then get a better feel for Spain when we have the apartment to ourselves out of season. It would be nice to live in Spain for six months and UK for the other six but it's not practical at the moment.
Regards
Keith

Hi Pauline,
I will do an extensive photoshoot of the development and the immediate area when I go out next and post them here. We may be out at the same time...
Ann and Bob who posted here earlier in the thread are going in December so we are looking forward to news and pics from them.

Hola,
Just found this site, been looking on the Mazarron website for months but nothing about Mojon hills for over a year!! Nice to actually find people in the same boat as us.We are buying on phase one, 2 bed upstairs and as we get much nearer completion thought there would be more contact from other buyers.
Initially looked in Conil area costa de la Luz, very nice, bit expensive and preferred Med. Coast.
Found property on an independent visit late 2003 then went through Propertunities, I thought apartments were a good size with the benefit of a large solarium in a great location and not a bad price. Buying furniture pack after much deliberation. Decided that to do it independantly and co ordinate everything arriving during a visit might be a bit too difficult. Saw whats on offer in the showroom and it looks quite good (just a few minor changes).
Like the idea of employing someone to check the property and welcome details so that we can consider this. Incidentally is anyone using Galvez & Galvez for the transaction instead of solicitors?
We are looking at spending lots of short breaks and then extended holidays and who knows maybe one day stay much longer.
Was a shock seeing the size of the desalination plant behind the complex!!
Anyway I'm going on a bit, lot to say in reply to the previous messages. Look forward to chatting,
Mike & Deb from Newbury Berks.

Hola Mike and Deb
We too looked at Costa de la Luz areas. Nice to hear from someone else. Where did you view the furniture packs? Was it Milton Keynes? We were thinking of using Ikea and perhaps one of the furniture shops in Mazzaron. Ours is not ready for a couple more years as it is on the last phase to be built - phase 4.
We saw the desalination plant when we viewed our plot earlier this year - I am hoping that it will be disguised somehow! Still it will be good to have clean water and plentiful supply. Hope it is not a blot on the landscape. Our penthouse apartment looks the opposite way I think.
We heard that Galvez and Galvez had split up the partnership - though I think one of the partners is about to set up again.
We had same plan - lots of short breaks and might let it out to friends and family.

Hola Pauline,
We are buying from the builder 'Atlantia' and a few months ago they gave us furniture pack options. We hadn't intended to go down this route but whilst in the area went to the shop, looked at the goods and quantity and thought that it wasn't a bad idea. They were happy to put us in touch with the shop and staff there were helpfull (puertomobel furniture. www.puertomobel.com) the shop is near to inland Mazarron and furniture is displayed as it should be.
Really liked Conil and surrounding area plus beaches but as I said before, prefer med sea.
Are you going through G&G or have you gone down the solicitor route?
It's been a long wait but finally we are almost there!
Mike

Hola Mike and Deb
Thanks for this. Will visit the shop when we come over in the spring and see what it is like.
We are using a solicitor that was recommended by a friend -the name is escaping me at the moment but so far they have been ok.
Dave my husband remembered that the builders said they were going to landscape around the desalination plant when it was finished to make it more attractive. Hope they do! There is also to be a golf course nearby so we should be able to see the greens from our apartments. Didn't realise this development was being sold as far back as 2003. We only discovered it in the spring this year.
Been christmas shopping today - took an hour just to get out of the car park and it is not even December yet!
Have a nice weekend. Pauline and Dave

Hello all
We are in Puerto de Mazarron at the moment. OK for you all having Phase 1 as it seems to be getting near completion. Obviously very late. We are Phase 3 and we expecting completion May 2007 now looks like late 2008 but what can you do, we are intending to live there and have sold our house, never understand why they start so many new phases before finishing the first ones, obviously to do with getting our money in their bank.
Bye for now

Hi Parcela,
Wish we were with you!! Have you taken any photo's of the development that can be uploaded? We are on phase one but unlike you, we are not planning to move out for a couple of years or so. Maybe you could use our apartment while waiting for yours to complete? Just an idea...
Anyway, Nikki and I would like to wish all of you a very merry christmas and a peaceful and prosperous new year.
Kind Regards
Keith & Nikki

Hi,
My name is Sarah, and my husband is Lee. We purchased an apartment at Mojon Hills in July through Mercers. We have bought on Phase 2. Hopefully completion will be towards the end of summer 2007. Is there anybody else using this forum, who have also bought on Phase 2, or any one who have any other photos for us to look at? We intend to go back out to Spain at Easter to sort out paper work etc. with J. Galvez (formally known as Galvez & Galvez). Has anyone else used this company, and if so, how did you find them?
As for the furniture package, we are still unsure as to what to do. In some ways, I think it would be easier to purchase the furniture package, but on the other hand, I quite fancy doing a bit of shopping!!. If anyone has any experience with shops in the Puerto area, please let me know, especially electrical (lights etc) when I could do with someone to fit them.
Kind regards
Sarah

Hi Sarah and Lee
Nice to hear from you. We are on Phase 4 so ours will not be ready until early 2009 - or later by the sound of things !
We are hoping to have a visit in April and I am currently looking for somewhere to stay - not too close to the development but in the area - probably La Azhoia.
Someone mentioned that there are a couple of shops in Mazzarron where you can purchase lighting and they fit them too!
We're thinking of going to Ikea in Murcia for furniture - there are other big department stores there too. I will check out the shops in Mazzarron when I go over.
I will take photos and upload after my visit - there should be a bit more to see by April.
Happy New Year ! Pauline and Dave

Hello people - it's so good to find this site and some other people who have bought at Mojon Hills! We found it way back in June 2004 and bought a 2-bed apartment on Phase 2, Block 1 (1st floor), and I have been worrying about my fantastic sea view ever since, ie. will it ever actually materialise? In fact, will the building ever materialise. At least it's comforting to know that there are other people out there wondering the same things! We were originally led to believe that ours would be finished round about May LAST YEAR - what a joke! Luckily we have no plans to move out there - just as well eh?
It will be great to see any photos that anyone might take, as I can't see any recent relevant ones on the Atlantia site - maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
We have had a couple of years now wondering about this solicitor problem - to use one (I'd definitely go for Spanish, but which one?) or to go with a gestor (we met one who claims that they have to go to the notary for you anyway to check that the solicitor has done everything correctly!). As for the NIE - you have to actually apply for it in person anyway, so why pay someone? We achieved this in a very quick trip to Cartagena - mind you the agent then forgot that they had agreed to pick it up for us, but we got there in the end!
Sorry this is a bit long, but I can't believe there' other people out there! And by the way, HOW did you get them to come up with any projected completion dates at all??

Hello,
We have just got back from Mojon Hills after being shown around the site for the first time yesterday, (its now Sunday 14th Jan 2007) we are very interested in purchasing a top floor apartment in phase 3 overlooking the pool.
After being delighted with it all yesterday, we have come back to the UK and need to think practically.
Is anyone else buying a top-floor apart ment in type C with a 'tower' on the solarium? If so, how are you going to cope with no wardrobe in the second bedroom? Space seems to be cramped!!??
We currently have the apartment 'held' and so any feedback people can give would be appreciated as we need to lay down a deposit by Tuesday if we want to go ahead.
One odd question I have, the apartments on the ground floor, are they one floor or two? I simply cant remember!
Also, any further feedback people can give us?
If we buy we are very much looking forward to being part of the community, however wont be living there full time, mostly weekends throughout the year.
I took a few pictures of the site yesterday if anyone is interested, I cant see how to upload them on to this site!!??
davidric@hotmail.com
Thanks,
David.

Hi David,
Nice to hear from you. It would seem you have a big decision to make!!! Of course no one but you can decide if Mojon Hills is right for you, but we don't regret going ahead. Of course the completion dates batted around by agents are wildly inaccurate, but, this seems to be the norm. We bought on phase one and it will be ready manana sometime. Ours is a three bed with solerium and to be honest, I can't remember what rooms have wardrobes in them or not. I also don't really care as our decision to buy was based on the Location, Location, Location principal above all else. Mojon Hills will rent very well and all the apartments will be more than adequate for a family looking for a one or two week holiday. Phases one and two sold very quickly so I would expect three and four to do the same.
Nothing in life is certain except death. If you go ahead with Mojon Hills then you will probably be glad you did in the long run. If you don't, then there will be plenty of other opportunities in the area down track.
Sorry to be of no use what-so-ever but, everyones attitude to property is as unique as their own circumstances.
Kind regards
Keith

Hi David,
I've left a posting on the other link for Mojon Hills but forgot to mention on how to upload photos. If you go to the link at the top of the page 'Shared Photos' and enter the development site, you should find some other photos of Mojon Hills. I've left some myself. Further down the page, there is the upload button. You then just need to browse for your photos and upload them as normal
Regards
Sarah
