Radio receiver socket .I am requsting some help in respect to the best equipment for using the fixed installation radio socket ,what frequencies does it work on ,what type of connection does it require,would it be compatible with UK radios ?Would a DAB radio work on it.? What stations are you able to receive.?
We are over on Tuesday ,should I buy before we fly or when we arrive?

Next to the TV socket,two outlets one for TV and one for radio .There is also a phone socket in the lounge and the master bed-room.

Go to Mojacar's website http://www.mojacaronline.com/index.html to visit a good site. It advertises Spectrum Radio in our native tongue.
Very useful site for local information.
UK shopping in spain advertise on there too.
Not that I am anything to do with them. I dont want to be accused of causing a row over recommending someone . I have never used them. Just know quite a few people may like to bring over some home comforts.
Just an impartial discovery. May be of useful information to everyone.

The FM socket is the same as the UK so you can just scan for radio stations.
Spectrum is English speaking and the music suits those of a certain age, i.e. 30+ However, their playist is a bit limited so within a couple of days, you're hearing the same songs.
I'm not sure where you go for drum n bass though, sorry

Hi Ken
Sorry, I will not be able to keep volume of radio low because it will not drown out the sounds of satellite Sky TV, barking dogs, screaming kids, noisy holidaymakers, neighbours' arguing or tradesmen calling canvassing for business.

But you only listen to Classic FM and the Archers.

Next question ,digital radio can be received in Spain ,but is the FM socket connected to a digital receiver ?Because the television socket is analogue,as I found to my cost .

You can listen to radio 1 or any other radio station thats in the UK through Sky!
Or if you dont want sky , You can get loads of radio channels through the internet. If you want a good deal, Servcom in Turre will give you 500K and 300 free minutes talk time on a land line tel for €49 per month. If you live there thats not bad at all. Once you have broadband you can talk unlimited to anyone in UK who has Skype. Even if they dont have Skype you can buy your calls from them at approx .015 pence a minute!
I use in the UK all the time!
