Just returned from San Juan, this trip was to make the final decision on whether to stick with it or back out.  The area is good and much improved from our last visit.  We were surprised to find a new development at the opposite side of road to our house on phase 1, it is due to be completed in 2009 but we have now accepted this and will continue with the purchase.  Completion date for phases 1 and 3 is some time after March and before June of next year.  The show house will open in February - it was almost completed when we left with all external walls around the property now rendered and the washing machine area tiled and completed.

For anyone who is worried about the new development, it is the last phase of the apartments with blue domes - we went in the sales office, the plan looked very attractive.  It is the final phase- 2 inverted u shaped blocks as the ones lower down the road, but on a smaller scale, it has a swimming pool at the front surrounded by a garden area. Parking below ground level.
