Hi All,
We have just got back from a trip to Thalassa today, the weather was really warm, mid 20s. We took a trip up to Sierra Nevada to do a couple of days Snowboarding. The first day the ski lifts were closed due to wind, so we spent the afternoon shopping in Granada (skiing would have been much cheaper!!). Well worth a trip up, it took about 3 hours to get there. Fantastic scenery most of the way. The lift pass is 37 euros for full day, all the equipment hire places seemed to charge similar ammounts (24 euros for board & boots).
Many of the pistes were quite icy, especially the begginer slopes. No off piste action as all were iced over. However we had a great day snowboarding and would recommend the trip, especially as the next day we were basking in the sunshine back at Thalassa!
If you find the pistes at the top of the mountain icy, try the slopes lower down between Pradollano and the main ski lift drop off, they seem in better condition.
Also I would call the ski resort before setting off to check the ski lifts are open, they will be able to let you know at 8am. Its a long way to go to find it all closed.
Have a great time,
Chloe.
