I over at the apartment last week and very happy with the complex but was very disappointed to see that the indoor pool area closes from April till October , when I bought I did'nt expect that I would not have the use of this area for 6 months of the year. The other point which would concern me is not having the choice of an english TV station which really helps a lot when you have children in the apartment wanting to watch the TV in the evening.

Hi Tony
Both issues that you have raised have been noted previously for inclusion on the agenda for the community meeting (no date yet!).
Many people want to have the facility of satellite TV with English channels.
Have you added your name to Andrew Rampton's email list? There are almost 100 owners on the list & we use it to communicate & discuss issues.
If you would like your name added, PM me your name, apartment number & email address & I will forward your details to Andrew.
Noreen

Seems to me that those who wish to have year round opening of the indoor pool (and the pathetic excuse for a spa and gym), should be prepared to pay for it.
I, for one, am strongly opposed to having to fund a facility being which is used to attract holidaymakers - those who profit by it - pay for it..
The argument that it is there for all is invalid, because holiday rentals naturally tend to have holidaymakers making far more use of facilities than residents.
Why are we not concentrating on the more important issue, in my opinion, of the lack of equipment or facility not as advertised?
Do you all remember the promotional video and marketing 'blurb'? Why is there only one Jacuzzi when they mention Jacuzzi s?
How on earth does the so called Gym cater for 533 homes which could mean 2000 people or more in peak season?
If you haven't seen their promotional video, go on to their web site. I am bitterly disappointed as are the people I have spoken to.
Who is accountable?

I think this is something we will need to take a vote on. I will NOT be renting out my apartment but do wish for the indoor facilities to be open all year round, I do agree however that the facilities at best are pathetic for the size of complex we are on. If there is any kind of lobbying towards keymare then i will gladly get involved.

We certainly do not wish the indoor facilities to be open through-out the year,it will increase costs to the community in energy bills and maintenance .
If some believe that opening in Summer period will be an advertising factor in their adverts for renting ,they should be the ones who foot the bill.

Like a lot of people we are not renting out but have bought as a second home. One of the main draws to Thalassa as opposed to any other development was the spa. The ability to stroll up the "garden" to the pool at any time of the year is certainly not possible in good old Blighty (not at our house anyway)! This adds to the attraction of the development (does anyone like me remember the "discover a feeling of wellness at home" slogan? Did anyone ever say "but only during October - March"!!?
If people are concerned about the cost then we would be in favour of shutting the indoor pool during the summer months (the outdoor pool should be sufficient) but still keep the rest of the facilities open. A cover would of course be needed for the indoor pool from a health and safety perspective. However, bigger picture, as many have pointed out, the spa is actually not that big. Surely the cost of running it split amongst 572 homes should not be that significant compared to everything else. Surely when you buy on a spa complex you have to expect that the maintenance costs will be slightly higher than on any other, more basic, complex and as such we should be considering these as standard as opposed to "extra" costs? I hope I am not in the minority here?

Chappym .I welcome your impartial view.Whilst you accept that the increased usage would add additional cost to the community, you offer a compromise. The concern that I have is the energy consumed with additional showering in hot weather and wear and tear resulting in increased maintenance and repair. The off season would enable evaluation and essential maintenance to be carried out.

Essential maintenance and repairs are ongoing, not just restricted to the "summer" months. As such, before we can establish the need to remain open/closed during the warmer months, we should be concentrating on ensuring that the spa is maintained to the highest level of hygiene possible.
It is not acceptable that cleaners are given water and disinfectant and told to clean the facilities......training is required, evidence of which has so far eluded me!!
If hygiene levels are not addressed and given the utmost priority, then the spa, on the grounds of it being a danger to public health, may find itself closed, and not just for the summer months!
Lets stop focusing and obsessing on the lack of equipment. If they can't get it right with the level which is currently on offer, what chance have we got should there be more?
No doubt Noreen and Co: will be asking these prudent questions to Louis when they meet, however, in the meantime, please can you turn the heat up in both the pool/jacuzzi/steam room and sauna?
Regards,
Lorraine Braid.

Did anyone actually realise or be informed that the gym/spa complex on phase 2 was actually the one on phase1? it was clever marketing by K/M to refer to this facility on both phases but never actually state that they were in fact the same one!

jeffw Yes I agree.I bought on phase 2 ,never realising that they actually consisted of one large urbanisation,I get a gut feeling that we got led down a very manipulative path. Yes the phase one and two was clever marketing and we have to accept it,but we do not have to accept the complex until it is at the standard that they advertised at ..
Sales just never mentioned it ,therefore we should not let them off the hook, and ensure that all is perfect before they release total responsibility and we foot the bill
The list that Noreen has formulated is excellent and tells them that we mean business. I also appreciate the fact that you have not reproduced the contents on the open forum,it encourages others to join the email list and keeps our business inhouse.and you have given the facility to PM you for info.
Perhaps those who are not part of the email list should reconsider if they wish to be at the cutting edge.

I am amazed that some of you did not realize that the 'Spa' was on phase one. Didn't your sales agents take you to KM sales office and show you the scale model? Were you not given the promotional DVD?
Judging from other posts, some of these agents leave very much to be desired and may well justify the accusations of misleading their clients. I hope the aggrieved on this forum are able to get redress, but I somehow doubt it.

I am happy with the way it all turned out,but we must ensure that all is up to the standard before we accept responsibility. Yes buyer beware is very apt ,and never believe verbal statements is a lesson .The fact is Keymare must put in place all that they promised in adverts,DVD's and written statements and promotions ,if not perhaps the community should appoint an expert in that field to represent us,but first we will give them the opportunity to fulfil their obligations. Hi
We have just returned from Thalasa and whilest the spa facilities are small, out of season they are adequate.
We believe that it would be good to leave it open all year but to close the indoor pool which would be a good saving and is not required in the summer.
The facilities in the spa other than the indoor pool would be good for the onsite residants and the holiday makers and the extra cost would hopefully not be to great.
We therefore agree with CHAPPYM about this sensible comprimise as the facilities are used more effectively.
