Hello,

I am shipping furniture from the UK to Los Collados (Phase IV) ground floor having taken the keys back in September. I am planning on sending pretty much everything over - what I would like to know if anyone has it is the size of the windows in both bedrooms and in the living room as well and also the "drop" for curtains. If someone could also tell me the size of the shower cubicle and colour of the shower tray that would also be good because I plan to ship these as well.

Also for the lighting is it a standard light and shade that is required for the bedrooms and lounge and are these the same as used in the UK (i.e. a small ceiling rose and length of wire with a bulb holder at the end) or are they different?

Hi Michael,

Can't help with the windows, but the shower tray in our apartment was white and approx 760mm square. I say approx, since it was installed badly and one side was longer than the other!! We used a cubicle that had around 50mm adjustment available, so it could be made to fit.

With regard to light fittings - there aren't any!! You'll just have bare wires hanging out of the ceilings. That's the first job you'll need to tackle. Take a table lamp or two that you can plug in to the wall sockets, otherwise the only light you'll have will be the cooker hood!!

Thanks for the information on the shower tray - that was what I kind of expected - we did an inspection trip last year and the shower tray looked like it was fitted reasonably well but you never know once you start lookin in more detail I guess!

Hi Michael

With regards to lights, Pete is right - no ceiling roses in Spain, just wires hanging down! I was nearly caught out by this but was recommended to contact a  company called Oasis properties who are on site Rich Fenlon sorted me out rich@oasispropertiesaguilas.com . They supplied and installed all my lights before I arrived, they also did the shower cubicle, air con, infact they supplied all my furniture, kitchen stuff, bedding - the whole lot. It saved me a huge amount of time - dont know about you but when you go into a Spanish shop to buy anything it takes forever - and thats if you can make yourself understood!! 

Speak to Rich - I dont think there is anything he cant sort out!
