Mijas Races

We intend to bring our second car over in April, Taking the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao. Has any one undertaken this drive yet?   Multi map route takes us more or less straight down through but this takes in Madrid, of which I am a bit nervous. There also appears to be a lot of toll roads leading out from Bibao.

I would be very grateful if any one could offer advice.  May be a PM?

Also, We shall probably looking for some where to stay overnight - any suggestions please??

I haven't done that journey for about 4 years, but when I last did it,  I did not stop and did not find it strenuous at all. As you say it is straight down.  The Ferry gets into Bilbao early 0700ish, but the traffic was so bad when we arrived that it was about 0900ish before we were clear of Bilbao.  I do not remember going into Madrid, I think that it is by-passed, but you need to look at a map to confirm.
