I am thinking of offering my apartment for a long term rental. Does anyone have any advice or good contacts?

Also how much would a two bed two bathroom fetch per month?

The figure that I have been advised for long term rental is €450 per month plus utilities.

Also, don't forget the 11 month time limit.

Noreen

Hi Toure,

As Noreen has stated it is very important to observe the 11 month time limit on long-term rental. Should you agree to rent for 12 consecutive months, your tenant then has the right to claim "squatters rights",  it is advisable to agree on 3 x 3monthly "short-term" contracts and then a 2 month contract to keep within the 11 months.

If you are concerned about the payment of electricity bills, you can get a "pre-payment" slot meter installed, this doesn't just apply to anyone looking at long-term rental, it would be perfectly acceptable to use this system during the summer months for the air-conditioning units (it is one way of ensuring that people are more economical with their usage).

** EDITED ** Please respect terms of posting

Regards to you and yours,

Lorraine & Peter Braid.

Thanks for your advice. Do you know any estate agents who offer a good service and can be trusted to get a good tennant?

Sorry Toure,

They do not get "squatters" rights, but "tenants" rights.........either way, it will cost a fortune taking them to court to get them out!

Regards,

Lorraine Braid.
