We bought one of our bikes in Aguilas,which is a town further down the coast.Directions ,difficult because it was down a side street. We also remember that the pigeons in the town plaza are all white,and their is a beach.

We bought 2 bikes in January but we did it on a trip to Murcia we bought them in Decathlon we thought we got a good deal at 99 euros each and they came fitted with front and back lights, they are a cross between a mountain bike and road bike, they have sprung forks and 21 gears. Hope this may be of some help.

We bought 2 mountain bikes in a small shop just outside Garrucha (near the supermarket). It's a small family owned place (they also rent out bikes) and the owner followed me back to Thalassa with the bikes in the back of his van.
You could probably buy cheaper but the quality is excellent and I'm glad we paid a bit extra (500 euros for the two).
For those who are interested, you can cycle from the naturist beach all the way to Villaricos along the seafront. It's a bit bumpy in places but good fun. There and back from Thalassa is about an hour.

The Carrefour in Almeria do cheap and cheerful mountain bikes, useful if you're flying into that airport and have room in the car. However, it does depend on how serious a cyclist you are and what you want them for.

Have noticed a bike shop in Garrucha which is situated behind the Mercadona Supermarket, next door to a take-away pizza parlour. Sorry can't be more specific.
