having spent 12 blissful days during the Easter break at Thalassa when the weather was wonderful (our first proper stay without doing jobs), one thing did concern us. We noticed three women enter the complex carrying floats etc for the pool. We were sure they did not come from one of the apartments but from outside the main gate. Being with some friends we could not follow up our feelings initially. However, an hour later we went up to the pool and saw these women in the jacuzzi. They looked uncomfortable when they saw us. Three days later they were in the pool again. Their belongings in the changing room took up all the available space and certainly did not appear to be just a few garments! Again they looked guilty. Being our first visit we were not sure who to contact. We are positive they were not residents and as the main pedestrian gate is always unlocked during the day (because of workman we presume) entry is easy. has anyone else experienced this?

These women appear to be regulars. I met them coming in the pedestrian gate at the main entrance with their floats etc. one morning last February and also saw them leaving another day. I again observed them in the indoor pool during Easter on a few occasions and four of them arrived one morning and stayed until around 6.00 p.m. when my wife saw them walking out the pedestrian gate again at the main entrance. The problem with this gate is that while you need a key to open it to gain entry a key is not required to open it when leaving. So it would appear that people know that if they gain entry they have no problem in getting out. We also met four people in the indoor pool during Easter who informed us that they were living in Garrucha and that they came to Thalassa regularly to avail of "the fantastic facilities". However their access was facilitated by an owner on site.

I live in block 26 next to the paddle tennis court. On 2 occasions over the Easter holidays I saw 2 cars drive in at about 8.30pm and park, Spanish men get out, play tennis for an hour or so, then get back in the cars and drive back out. They paused in the car at the gate which then opened, so they must have a gate key. On the second occasion a neighbour who speaks spanish approached them and one of the men said he was from block 24 but I watched them all drive out together after their game so I don't think that was true.
How can we stop this happening?

Hi,
I sent the details to Noreen who is going to send it on to the President of our Community and also to Seasun.
I don't know if it is worth saying anything to the security guard because he goes off duty at 7pm and the tennis players didn't arrive until about 8.30pm.

I am now back from my travels with work, where I only had very limited internet access. I will try to get the update from my meeting with Monica last week, sent out either tonight or tomorrow evening at the latest.
I think that will go some way to giving you an idea of what Monica is considering in relation to security & access to the community.
I do apologise for the delay but I haven't even had a chance to unpack yet, so please bear with me!!

The problem with people acessing the facilities if they are not residents needs to be addressed as we are all paying our community charge , they are onto a winner! Perhaps some sort of swipe card to gain access at least to the pool could be devised. Residents or residents visitors need to make sure that they shut the gate if walking out as obviously these people seem to be very clever in gaining access. We used the tennis courts in the evening when we were over in January, we are coming out in May and looking forward to being able to use them again so will not be impressed if we find out they are being used by these people.

Have you seen the email that I sent out earlier this evening? I think that it covers a few ideas on how these issues may be addressed.
There are also rules for the use of the spa & tennis courts in the process of being drawn up, which if agreed & adopted will further help in preventing this unauthorised access.
If you haven't seen the email, please PM me & I will send you the details.
Noreen

Hola everyone,
The evening spaniards (usually 4) using the middle padel tennis court definately do not reside in block 24 as I do and have seen them playing then packing up and moving away. I must say that judging by the standard of their play they obviously play regularly. On the occasions that I have seen them they have been playing under floodlights which they are unable to do at the momment as following the recent extremely strong wind, three of the four lights are pointing everywhere other than the court, perhaps this was why we never saw them on our most visit (17-22 April)

I have just got home from a week at Thalassa and the tennis players are still playing. They were there for an hour and a half last Tuesday evening from about 7.30pm. They must time it to arrive after Teo has gone home.
