Hi...we have spent a frustrating day trying to get our shared Sat TV service installed...we had the survey...all was going to plan until we were told we had to get permission from the Administrator...to cut through 4 hrs of telephone conversations with Juan, etc...this is now the latest position.
ONE INSTALLER HAS BEEN AUTHORISED FOR THE WHOLE DEVELOPMENT...AND ANYONE WHO HAS ALREADY HAD THEIR DISH INSTALLED IS LIKELY TO HAVE TO HAVE IT REMOVED, AND PAY AGAIN WITH THE APPROVED INSTALLER.
THIS CONTRACT WAS AGREED WITH THE DEVELOPERS JUST THIS LAST WEEKEND...AND THERE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE NOTICES POSTED AROUND EACH BLOCK ADVISING US OF THIS ( WHICH HAS NOT BEEN DONE)
WE JUST HAD A KNOCK ON THE DOOR FROM ONE OF THE BUILDERS, AND A LAMINATED NOTICE WAS SHOWN TO US AND A BUSINESS CARD OF THE INSTALLERS DETAILS.
HIS NAME IS TOM ANDERSON...AND HIS CONTACT NUMBER IS 654 45 53 97
IT IS AS YOU WILL HAVE GUESSED RATHER MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE SHARED ROUTE WE WERE ALL PLANNING ON....IT IS 300 EUROS EACH FOR THE CONNECTION TO THE COMMUNITY DISH, AND 250 EUROS EACH FOR A SKY BOX....
SORRY TO BE THE BEARERS OF BAD NEWS....WE ARE HOPING TO GO AHEAD WITH OURS TOMORROW, AND WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES.

well, i'm going out there in the morning for 8 days so i'll have something to say about that. i paid over 800 euros to set up a dish for others to share and over my dead body will they remove it. i will contact my lawyer whilst i am out there if i cannot get a straight answer on site. I was given permission by the builders and by juan (who was the representative in charge and gave us the access himself!). i was only told i needed this. i can only hope that if they have approved an installer, it will not stand for people who have already paid and had it installed

Had a feeling this would happen as at the moment there is no comittee to rule on this sort of thing. I suppose Prienesur have the majority vote. Does seem strange that Juan had said it would be OK.
Where are all the rules?

I think they make the rules up as they go along. Remember we are in Spain... where the authorities have bulldozed people's homes so disconnecting a satellite dish will be a minor problem. In Suzanne's case, the approved installer should connect her free of charge, as Juan had given his permission it would now seem in error. It’s only fair for them to admit the mistake and put it right…we will have to see how this proceeds for her.
I can't believe the developer agreed the rules only recently concerning satellite installation for the development.... surely the rules concerning this should have been sorted, agreed and set in stone years ago! Lets face it they have had enough time to have the place running like clockwork with all the rules and regulations firmly in place for when we all move in.
It would seem that what we have been told in the past, with regards to what we can/cannot have/do might now be different. Anyone due to complete needs to ask to see the community rules before completion, as this may be the first of many on the spot rules.

Hi...this is apparently the way the sat tv was always going to be connected....unfortunately NO ONE TOLD US...!!!
Tom connected our apartment and another in our block today...all great...vey helpful guy....he has the contract...all very legal. The Administrator came to see us personally late last night to stop us wasting money by installing our own, only to have it removed. Tom will re connect anyone who has already installed...at NO fee...but anyone going solo now after being told not to will have to pay the 300 euros....
We are all then covered for any problems free of charge for the next 3 years....
There has apparently been quite significant damage to the brickwork on block 6 by the installer of the private dishes....hence we can nderstand the Administrators concern, and by giving a contact to one authorised person....in our favour...avoids us paying for remedial works....
We too were a bit bemused yesterday...but after meeting Tom think you will all be pleased with his service and sence of fairness to those who have already gone ahead...

please dont get mad , your are all right and i will connect the three people to my system free of charge , so dont get mad , as for the installed dishes you where very over charged 800 euros to install one dish ,crazy , perhaps you would like to go on the roof and see the damaged caused by whoever installed the dishes , and dont forget you are getting a 3 year warrenty on your connections, and as for 4 connections per dish , my system will feed all apartments in each block from one dish , even if you want sky plus or HD, the system is installed without charge to the community and that is why each apartment owner has to pay the connection charge , it would cost at least 14000 euros to install the first phase in all 11 blocks so im taking a chance and see this as a 3 to 4 year investment , regards thomas

sorry to go on , but feel i need to explain myself , if you buy a digibox from me not only do you get a personal warrenty for 1 year but if you have a rental and your box fails after the warrenty , i will suppy a replacement box while i have yours repaired ,, to give you continual viewing , not to upset your renters or yourselves , they can phone me if they have any poblems and most times i can sort it out over the phone , free of charge ,no call out fee .lots of other benifits , no sound no problem , tom can fix it . lol .. stay calm your community have made the right decision . regards thomas .....helping to keep dishes of our nice buildings ,

Who needs a TV anyway! Its always better down the pub -or better still we can all pop round to Thomas' house to watch the footie!!! Only joking!!
Thomas-a couple of questions if I may - Is there an element of "free to air" viewing in the system and if so what english channels will this pick up.?
Is the SKY element an optional extra and is it subject to an ongoing payment of a SKY card-if so how much does this cost in Spain.?
Regards
Limar

hello limar , mines a havana rum and coke , thank you , , limar think of yourself in the uk ,its just the same as your programes in england ,if its free to air or free to view , its free and the evil sky man who wants to charge you up to 45pounds sterling or more for watching repeats and old movies and sports , the only thing thats different is we need a dish size up 1.8 meters to recieve the same programs here , but one thing is different .you dont have to pay a lienece fee in spain , regards thomas
