Hi

I guess from this you think this is a good idea, I am in the process of buying a ground floor and was concerned about the 'nickability' of the washer! I too would be interested in this info.

Thanks

Not sure if you have already received this information :-) There is a gentleman called John who has performed various works onsite i.e. window, shower cubical, breakfast bar, security shutters/grills installs etc..... I have not yet used his services but he has been recommended by other purchasers - I spoke with him today to request some quotes.. If you want his contact details please contact me directly ..... not sure whether to post them here :-)

What are thoughts about continuing the brickwork round and painting in to match existing... this would be

a) more secure than glass

b) not create the greenhouse effect in that area during summer

c) blend in better with the rest of the building

Clearly this area of the apartments is a gift to thieves especially without having our promised 24 hour security

Personally I think putting brickround such a small area would make the kitchen very dark.  Depending on who you get to put in the glass surround they can be more, or less, secure.  The person who has put ours in and also fitted extra locks on all windows and doors as well as putting in a great mataching breakfast bar in the kitchen was very good.

We have a ground floor apartment in block 13. We felt it was necessary from a secuity point of view to enclose the utility area. It also gives additional storage which is handy. RNA HOME DECOR based in Estepona furnished our apartment and were most helpful in providing us with additional security measures, ie enclosed utility and shutters etc. If you want their contact details please email me directly as I'm not sure if it would be deemed as advertising if I posted their web address here. They are reasonably priced and their work is of an exceptionally high standard.

Happy New Year everybody!

I would certainly use John for anything really.  He's our friend living in Spain now and what he can't do he knows somebody who can.  He's done so much out at Casares for us and after he fitted the very first washing machine enclosure for us so many people have followed suit and he's done everything else such as lock changes, bath and shower enclosures, fitting of breakfast bar which I will say has come in handy - it gives you so much more space to work in the kitchen.  I believe he has shown several people around our apartment giving them an idea of his work.  He actually stays there sometimes whilst he is working on site which is good for us from the security angle. His friend did our air con - We went for the best and paid extra for it but we have individual air con in lounge and both beds.  It's very quiet too!   John is now well known amongst the office staff and on site and is honest and trustworthy. You may contact him on any of the following he really won't mind.  Tell him you got the info from Helen.
