Deleting binned private messages

My original thread here: https://www.eyeonspain.com/forums/posts-long-23531.aspx has been hidden as it is "under review". It is some time since I started the thread and it was to be looked into, but I am still unable to delete binned messages. Surely being unable to delete private messages will be some sort of data protection/ privacy issue? I ask aagain, can I either have the facility to delete them myself or can everything in the binned folder be removed for me?

As a member since 2007 I have accrued 65 private messages - nothing that I'm worried about but neverl the less in these days of havesting personal information I would like the ability to be able to delete them should I wish
