Been lovely here, too, Justin - even though a bit hot at about 38°c!! Myself, husband and son went over to play nine holes at a new course in Ras al Khaimah, about an hours drive from Dubai - Jake didn't play, though, he just drove the buggy (well, on the flats, anyway!!).

Hi Janice!
Yes, I suppose this thread is for general blog!! Although daily life isn't always "Happy", especially if you're driving on the roads here!! That's why a I thought a blog might just let members express or relate whatever was happening in their day/week, etc.
But I'll just post anywhere, as I do!!!
I'll get some pics from here to post - loads of camels on the road between the emirates!! And lots of red sand dunes!! Actually, that sounds like fun! I'd like to see more pics of where everyone else is!

Anyway, here's a piccy (as promised) of a front bedroom I have the pc in (though now I have a new pc with flatscreen  ) & a view taken from the bedroom. We look towards Cardiff, Wales across The Bristol Channel one way & across to The MendipHills another way.

Regarding the Interesting Time Fact you posted, I presume this relates to the USA, and on 5th June it will happen again, but in Europe and any other places where they use this date style.

Well, Janice, now that you've finished your dinner, I'll bet your sitting at your computer looking out at that wonderful view - if it's not dark yet in the UK!! Here it got dark hours ago, but I managed to get another picture of the Burj Dubai from my desk! It is now up to 124 floors and rising!!! Still has about another forty to go! It's quite amazing when you're looking across the horizon seeing it. It's going to be quite iconic when it's finished, totally covered in glass!
Will keep you update, in case anyone is interested! I believe it may be already nearing the "tallest structure in the world" even though it's not yet finished! In this picture it is about two kilometres away, max. (might be a little more or less, but I'm useless judging distance! To me it's a minute in the car!!).
Just for interest!!!!

Fredmorey, I've been here so long, everywhere is still "ten minutes" away when I'm NOT in the car!! Then I'm behind the wheel and it all comes back to me!!
Yep, on a clear road, it would probably be about a minute - but with today's traffic, at the first interchange especially, it could take at least 10 minutes from where I am!!!
I can get to Life Pharmacy in less than a minute, Fredmorey!!
