From what I've read, it's not due to open before August 2007. They did, at one point, have Malaga listed on their "check for stock link" on the Spanish website, but I think it's been removed now!
I also read somewhere about IKEA opening in Fuengirola!!!

We expect to take possession of our apartment in Fuengirola next month and are considering going to the Seville store. Does anyone know if they deliver to CDS or will we need to hire a man with a van

Davmunster, IKEA do delivery to the coast but for a price! They are not cheap! You can check out their delivery prices on their website, www.ikea.es, and select the Seville store.
As you would have to go there to choose whatever you would want anyway, seems logical to rent a van for the day - and cheaper! You can't order online there, so it's not like you can order online and they'll just deliver it.

i dont know if it helps. but i just came back from Ikea Murcia. It was so easy. I hired a van inside Ikea from a company called Primotti. It was 130 euros for 24 hours. I left my hire car in the car park overnight and it was fine. I filled the van full of ikea, the only thing we didnt get was a bed end, so not a disaster.
there are lots of very helpful english speaking staff at ikea.
opposite is a huge electrical store called saturn. very cheap and everything you would need from white goods to tv and hairdryers etc...
need any more info, just shout

Good advice! We have a house to furnish soon and have visited Ikea in Murcia twice, once on Easter Monday and we could hardly move. Did you order furniture some time before collection? When we asked about sofas and chairs they said they could have them in stock within three days.Prices seem similar to Ikea in the U.K. This message was last edited by lifeline on 6/16/2007.

Hi, what i did was to go onto their web site in spain and using the uk web site along side, i could see which boxes to fill in to see if the items are in stock.
In fairness to ikea, sofas, tables chairs all in stock for me, i had a couple of bed ends that we missing and they told me about that and that i have to go back for, but they will go in the car.
i did not order anything before going to murcia.
i pre booked the van and was really easy, their little desk is located next to customer services, prices were pretty much identical

Well worth the wait though, spain is not cheap at all, not everything in Ikea is cheap crap, found a book shelf in a spanish store 600e the same thing in Ikea 99e !!!!!!!!!! a year on and its still standing :)

Hi
Does anyone have directions for Murcia airport to Ikea in Murcia? Can you tell us how long it will take?
We are hoping to do the "shopping" on arrival to save us doing what will be 2 trips up to Murcia.
Thanks

Hi
We were in Vera last week to buy all the bits & pieces for our apartment in Vera & had intended driving up to Cartagena to Eroski but changed our mind.
We got everything we neeeded locally at Ferreteria Mojacar, Ferreteria Lopez both on Mojacar Playa & also at a shop in Turre called home sweet home (On the main road in Turre with the supermarket on your left, take the next right & it is on the left hand side) & then another Ferreteria type shop on the roundabout where you turn left to go up to Desert Springs golf course.
We had priced everything up at Eroski in the summer & this worked out at about thee same as we spent in the local shops. However it saved us 3 hours worth of motorway driving & the tolls.

From San Javier airport (Murcia to me and you) it shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes, maybe less. I travelled from Playa Flamenca 3 times and it took the quickest 45 minutes and the longest was an hour.
I would head towards Alicante from San Javier on the AP7 (not far) until you see the sign for Basillicas then you simply stay on that road and do not turn off until you see IKEA after you have driven around the outskirts of Murcia city and take junction 763a. (always head for Alicante on any signs once you are on the Basillicas road)
Try also a google map search as it will give you the road numbers and and idea of which way you should be heading.
Hope this helps.
