I have often wondered whether the Ryanair credit card is free to use, I have looked in all the accompanying FAq's for the card, but can't see where it says no booking fees. If that is so, then I will be applying for one just for booking the flights on.

HI Carol
Don't despair just yet. Ryanair were doing Leeds- Alicante for £0.00 (£20 inc taxes) and £69.99 return. The prices went up over the last week to £30+ taxes and £89.99+ taxes. Today the prices are now £0.00+ taxes and £49.99+ taxes, so they do go down again sometimes :0)

Not sure that it is - we looked into it and am sure you get charged the same as any other Mastercard. Looked at their application and not mentioned as a 'perk' there either.
After reading a forum on the 'money man', Martin Lewis' web site, we have applied for a Halifax Easy Cash account as it gives you a Visa Electron card, (as does the Co-op basic bank account too). Not got it yet so fingers crossed. If it works will just keep money on the account for booking flights. They are only 'basic bank accounts'
You can also get a Visa Electron card from the Post Office in either euros, pounds or US dollars.Only draw back is that they charge you for 'loading' the card. They are intended for use when travelling.

Just to confirm that paying with a Ryanair credit card, you WILL pay the same charges as you would for any other credit/ debit card (except electron). The only bonus of the card is the free flights (which have to be booked 30 days in advance and you have to pay taxes, charges, etc).

We applied online for our Halifax Easycash account - very easy - no need to send any identification details or go in to a branch, very straightforward. The account was opened within the week and we now have our Visa Electron card. We have hust put a bit of money onto the account ready for when we make any bookings. Again we transferred money direct from our existing bank account and the money was in the account within a couple of hours.
Not tried it yet as we have bookings already for November, December and February, but will hopefully try it soon.
