Hi Westport & Gericom, Looking at the photos recently posted does not look like either of you have a real problem. In my case i have to park almost up against the pilar to clear the yellow line on the other side and then if someone is parked there (although i can't see how as that space is even smaller then mine) then that's it, I won't be able to get out of the car or in! I am hoping my lawyer can find a resolution to this matter.

Thanks Westport for all the photos and particularly the efforts you went to in order to illustrate how Bay 3 (Block 1, Phase 1) will fit a car. Certainly it does look a bit tight but not impossible based on your experience. Whether it's worth kicking up a fuss about is another matter especially as you RG seem to be in a worse position.

We will be out there from 1st May to 13th May and we have a visit arranged with the developer, hopefully we will get enough time to have a good look at our apartment.  Did you sign the form for the developer Westport?

Also I will be interested in your solution for the dirt area behind the front fence - either tiling as you suggest or possibly decking with a handrail in front might be worth considering.

Regards

Hi Gericom99

I was thinking of putting the same tiles down that the developer has used all the way from the edge of the terrace area to the edge of the drop down to the road where the low external fence is. I am going to ask my solicitor about the height of this fence. I would have thought that decking would be more expensive than tiles as tiles are so cheap in Spain, plus you would need to put down rolls of weed block. Also we would need to find out from the administrator if there are any restrictions on these areas. If you want to go down the tile route, let me know and we could go half  on the whole job. We should all get a date for the community meeting once all of phase 1 has been handed over.

Hi Westport
I would certainly be interested in going half on a suitable proposition - the reason I mentioned decking was the relative ease of laying and the fact that it could incorporate a nice handrail or railing at the front - I remember looking up some website advertising decking services out there but I will have to check on that again.
As these are our private areas and do not intrude into communal areas  and also would enhance rather than detract from the appearance of same I don't see why there should be any problem with doing something like this.
I presume a good base of filling or cement would be required for under the tiles but it would be nice to incorporate a nice railing in front at a suitable height level. Certainly it's rather disappointing that we are just being left with an unfinished area of  bare earth  to deal with .

Lorraine,

Apartments C,D semi-basement and ground floor, B,C on othe floors.

size of windows

Living room 2m wide, 2.2m depth (there is a shutter box immediately above).

Front Bedroom 1.6m wide, 2.2m depth (with shutter box).

Kitchen 0.93m width, 1.1m depth.

Bedroom 2, 1.1m width, 1.1m depth.

Please do not use these dimensions exactly as your apartment may vary. Also, I believe that the depth on the living room was taken to above the shutter box.

This should give you an idea though.

Hi Sawalanza.

Thank you for those measurements, I might bring some voile curtains over with me when I am going over,

Are you going over yourself soon.?

Its a real pain not having the apartment yet as we all have flights booked and no apartment to go to.

Hi all,

does anyone know if the builders will be fitting any lights in the apartments?

We have assumed not and have already bought most of the light fittings.

Anyone who is planning on going out and moving straight in to the apartment should bear this in mind. You many need to organise an electrician before you can actually use the apartment (candles aside).

For example in the entance hall there is a ceiling light, also in the kitchen. In the living room there are 3 wall locations. In each bedroon, there are single wall locations. (2 bedroom apartment). Bathrooms also are wall mounted (I think).

We bought our ceiling light for the entrance hall from Conforama which is near the airport and very good value.

Hi Sawalanza,

The builders will indeed not be fitting any lights!  However if you purchased lights as part of your furniture package then fitting by the furniture people will be included except for (in the case of Imperial) the bathroom lights. This means that you need to be a good do-it-yourselfer or employ an electrician. Of course the first thing to be done after completion with the developer will be to get the  electricity and water supplies turned on for your apartment as it will be impossible to carry out proper snagging or  install furniture etc  in the absence of these services. How long it will take to get the electricity & water companies to do their bit I cannot say.

With regard to the lights and the location of the points I was quite surprised to find that there are no ceiling power points except for the kitchen and hall as you mention. All other power points for lighting are positioned on the walls of the rooms.  In the case of the bathrooms it would be nice to know exactly the whereabouts of the pipes supplying water to the sinks as I suspect they run down the wall behind the plaster and depending on your light fittings you might have to drill a few screw holes.....

Regards

The kitchen hallway and bathrooms have false ceilings therefore it is possible to fit ceiling downlights in those locations all other rooms have wall light points. From my understanding it does not take long to get the utilities (water & electricity) set up about a week or so I have been told. Only to get a phone line takes some time.
