As the commercial centre will not be open till the end of the year, does anyone have suggestions on which supermarkets are nearest and best to use for Peraleja?

There's a small one in Sucina with most of the basics but a 15 minute drive to Dos Mares shopping centre has an Eroski which sells just about anything and everything plus a big hardware shop along with electrical and other good shopping. There's a carrefour and an Ikea in Murcia (40 mins approx) but the best shopping centre we've found is just off the motorway before you reach Cartajena (also about 40 mins) This has all of the above on one site plus some other big furniture shops and plenty of fashion retailers etc.

San Javier and Los Alcazares also have very good Mercadonas with a good selection of things like PG Tips , brown sauce, Heinz baked beens etc. Los Alcazeres also has a Consum. For fresh fruit and veg you can't beat San Pedro del Pinitar market lots and lots to choose from, it is on Monday morning but go early for the best parking.
