Hi,

Can anyone assist.   What is the procedure for snagging and completing.  I am due to complete on 18th Aug.  I am flying to Murcia on the 14th Aug.   How do I organise access  with  Polaris for snagging.  Do I have time to snag and have all snagging pints addressed by Polaris.  I will not sign until snagging remedial works are completed to my satisfaction.

Hi Del,
We used a snagging company but I believe this is correct.

The procedure is to contact completions department who will then get you a snagging appointment with the snagging department. They generally will only snag 3 days before completion. Once snagging is done and list agreed PW then have 30 days to rectify the problems. PW will not allow you to hold up completion until snagging work has been done but guarantee to have it completed in the time allowed. 
Emma did our snagging for us on the 8th July ready to complete on the 11th, we actually completed on the 23rd due to lack of Habitation certificate. Emma from snaggitmurcia is still waiting for our final snagging appointment.
Just one more thing you are not supposed to put any furniture in to the apartment until snagging is completed and signed off. If you want to you can get a indemnity form from snagging which means you take responsibility for loss or damage to property in the apartment.

PW will arrange an appointment time with you for your snagging.  You will only have 1 - 1 hr 15 mins as they try and keep to their appointment schedules, but this is plenty of time to note all your snags.  
You will then sign and be given a copy of all issues noted.  You then have three months (from snagging date) to check the remedial work or PW will assume that you accept all the rectifications.  You may of ask someone else to check the work for you but you need to authorise this with PW.

PW have 30 WORKING days to rectify the snagging issues.  I discovered this to my cost when I merrily put in a lovely new lcd TV and came home one day to find it, the new DVD player and stereo all covered in dust and woodchippings as they had cut (foolishly in my opinion) the replacement kitchen work-top right there in the middle of the floor - which was also a complete mess.  The thought of either a - cutting it on the balcony and bringing it inside to fit and b/ having at least a tiny, tiny modicum of respect for my property and throwing a dust sheet over the stuff, just didn't seem to figure in their reckoning.  I was furious with them.

We had to contact them to try to arrange a snagging time which initially they wanted 2 days before completion. As, at that time, we were arriving late Wednesday to complete 1pm Thursday this wasnt possible and they agreed 10am on the Thursday-so it can be done as tight as that. However we decided a snagging company would suit us better as we cannot make the return visit journey anyway and the appointment is now 2 days before completion. Which we can now attend as we changed our flights and so even if we dont complete we will have been able to see the apartment
