Not sure if anyone thinks this is a good idea but couldn't we use this thread to put all the useful details of shops and suppliers so that it's all together and therefore easier to view rather than search through loads of postings. Details such as white goods, lights, furniture, etc. could all be entered here to make life a little easier. Any thoughts....?

Fantastic idea Phil!  

I have spent ages trawling through loads of threads to find details of the electrical shops, directions to Ikea etc.  At the moment whilst the Forum is very active, there are loads of postings everyday and we seem to have to go back through hundreds of threads to find something that was only posted a week ago!

      I was thinking about us having a thread on where people on this forum are, which gardens are each of us on, as when i read threads i keep having to remind myself which gardens some are on.

Can EOS not develop some sort of database system where we can list our names, hobbies, skills etc along with our Jardine number. This would be helpful if anyone needs any help with various projects or even looking for a game of golf / drink.

Its helpful to know were in the world people are from and were they are buying the new property, and yes you can, a good place to put this is in your Forum Profile which you access by clinking on the FORUM menu at the top of the page and then go down the list to Forum Profile. You can then add any information about yourselves you wish and it will be displayed under you user name every time you make a post.

Two years I have been on this forum and I did not know you could do that !!

Neither did I, but just done it. Thanks for the advice Phil (pgm).

I think it is good to have separate forums as we have now so you can contact your neighbours, especially when you are all at the same stage as we are now on the penthouses.

But we need to draw on the experiences of others who have completed on the jardines because we have to go through the same process.

Those on the island will feel the same as we do.

I think it would be great if we had a thread where we all could give some info about ourselves, not just by location because we are all in the same boat and I am sure we would all like to meet up at some time.
