Hi Netty
I am moving out onto jardin 13 middle of August to live, I am on ground level so have not got quotes for awning but the curtains etc for around pergoda are around 1500 - 2500 euros so I think I will be having a re-think

Have a look at www.sistemasrodriguez.info , another EOS member has negotiated a discount so -
The special prices they are offering for Condado de Alhama, include an awning AND two side curtains - a narrow side and long side curtain, are as follows: -
2 bed apartment - 4x3m pergola - 1150€
3 bed apartment - 5x4m pergola - 1250€
The detail of what you get is as follows: -
- Palillería attached to the wooden pergola fitted in the houses
- Aluminium powder coated in RAL 8003 Brown. (colour blend in with the pergola)
- Accessories matching the surface where they are fitted (white, black or brown 8003)
- Side curtains (2) included per pergola.
- Matching community criteria in colours. (Blanco Roto y Amarillo Albero)
- Stylish and practical use of the sun protection.
- Guarantee for 2 years
- Delivery within 14 days (real time)
- Installation & IVA included
- This is a great price compared with what I have seen elsewhere.
Or go to Ikea and take at look at the ones there, ok they are not on runners but the 3Mx2M was only £20 so you just replace them every year or so.

I got one from the Ikea in Warrington on Sunday for the decking area at home. I'm just looking on the Ikea web site now and cannot see them, I'll check the cat number tonight and post details.

Hi JH
Thats what I intend to do, my brother reckons with a nail / staple gun it will be easy enough for two people to do, he recommends the bamboo type, similar to what they use in roller blinds, that way when it rains it will drain off through the gaps or he has offered to structure an apex type frame so then I can add awning type material on top and then cover with rush or bamboo for decor so it will keep us dry when it rains but drain off the apex down the sides.......lots and lots of ideas

Hi All
When I was last out I asked in a furniture shop about awning and curtains and was told they hadn’t done costing for them as PW are very strict about colour and design of these kind of things. The representative that showed us around the show apartment confirmed this. So I would confirm what you can use before buying anything.

I am beginning to wonder whether we have any kind of say in what we can do with our apartments and resort, it seems they want us to purchase the property, furnish the property pay for all the bills that come with the property but we have to ask permission for anything else...... I really dont like the thought of having to ask PW everytime I want to do something or add something to my terrace or garden ..........next they will be colour conforming the curtains your allowed in your windows This message was last edited by angelbabe911 on 7/22/2008.

We decided that we were going to put up the bamboo type screening after we saw it on one of the apartments in La Torre, the only problem is there is no intermediate supports on our pergola.

Hi MIke
It shouldn't take much to sort that, a couple of struts across the top wont be that expensive or hard to do, or so my Brother keeps telling me ....... time will tell, but if what Phil and others have been told that we have to conform to uniformity amongst the inmates at PW aka colditz we may not get granted privilages from the commandant .... Just kidding

Carol,
Can't see why not when they have allowed it on La Torre where they have some strange rules and regulations - at least it looks natural.
It's also cheaper to take down when someone complains.
