Hi All,
Does anybody know if there is a market in the local area and what day (s) it is held ? Just another one of my scary thoughts but if your renting your going to need lots of bedlinen and towels, think these things are cheaper over there, but may be mistaken. Ladies, gentlemen any thoughts.

I think your best bet is IKEA they are good quality, durable and inexpensive to replace. Just my opinion if you intend to rent, they will need replacing on a regular basis.
Hope that helps

There is a shop called the Yorkshire linen company, above Mercadona in the port. They sell all UK sizes of bed linen, pillows and quilts, along many other items for the home, they are not as cheap as Ikea, but they do have some good quality stuff.
There is a internal market, albeit small, selling fruit, veg, fish and meats, in the port again, turn right as if you were going down to the main market and its immediatly on the right. This one is, i think open every day.

Some people are referring to Puerto de Mazarron as 'Mazarron' which is actually behind Puerto de Mazarron. Yes, the Yorkshire Linen co is near the Mercadona in Puerto de Mazarron. The Sunday market is in Puerto de Mazarron. It is in Mazarron on either a Sat or Mon. But the town square market in Puerto is open every day and has nice fruit and veg etc as well as a fantastic wee shop selling wine straight from the cask. You buy it in plastic litre bottles which the guy fills up in front of you. They have some basic stuff as well as some nice Jumilla wines. An interesting experience.

We went to the Mazarron Sunday market at the end of May.
We were impressed, not just the usual tourist stuff, but all sorts. Like any market there was good and bad quality things for sale, but food, clothes, shoes, linen, nik naks etc. We also noticed sunchairs and cushions for sunchairs which might be useful!
If you are staying at La Cumbre Hotel if you stand at their pool area and look doen you can see the market, it is a 5/10min walk , a street or so back from the front.
Worth a trip.
