What is all this news about Mirador being delayed in the "Longer term worries at Condado" thread.
Is there any truth in this or does anyone have any info on this....but only from the horses mouth, not by hearsay !
I'm not too happy to wait another 12 months after being told it would only take 18 months to complete from when we signed in April of 2007.

Just saw this post on another forum not good news I'm afraid 
Today recieved a call from Polaris Spain - advising completion for Dec 2009 has been postponed due to lack of paperwork from Spanish Goverment - therefore El Mirador building has been put on hold (not sure even works have began). Polaris England have been told not to market El Mirador at this time. Polaris Spain are asking us to consider another property.
Has anyone else been contacted re this latest development.

Whilst on site last week conducting the property inspections on the Jardines part of the Condado resort we were also told by someone who works for Polaris sales that El Mirador has been delayed and that they are no longer marketing the resort. We were also told that they are going to offer clients the opportunity to swap to other properties.
I understood that all cleints who had purchased on the resort were going to be contacted in the next few weeks by Polairs head office.
If I hear anymore news whilst on the resort I will let you know.

Can't say I believe that lack of paperwork story, more likely falling demand, I don't know how much of the resort was pre-sold. Sorry to hear this El Mirador, from what you have said you really wanted to be in Mirador, but maybe an opportunity, in the current market to get a good deal elsewhere on the resort.

I too am sorry to hear this El Mirador for you have been wanting this dream for a long time.
We were all were hoping something like this would not happen, and we all know they only tell us what they want us to hear.
So I hope you decide to still go somewhere else on Condado and get a great deal!
These thoughts are to all the people on the El Mirador.

I got a call from Polaris today but could hardly understand the lady on the phone to what she was saying. But yes they are offering alternatives to clients, but we bought an end terrace apt 2nd floor on Mirador, I doubt there ant left on any other phase...
Now to break the news to the missus....wish me luck !

Sorry to hear that Bren, did they give a specific reason and any date for completion if you want to stick with Mirador, or are they offering you a refund if you don't like the alternative?

To be honest Ted the girl on the other end of the phone was taliking so fast I couldnt understand what she was trying to tell me. I did hear that Mirador is indefinitely delayed and they dont even have a completion date, if any...
She did mention an alternative on another phase alright but again talking so quick I didnt get what she said. Nothing mentioned about refund though, I would've heard that ! So I told her to put it in an email to me so I could read it, but hey presto still waiting on email to arrive...!
Thats all I know for now kids, will keep updating as I get news.

Dont know where we'll stand from a legal point of view now, sure we'll see.

Sorry to hear your bad news but are they saying they are NEVER going to build Mirador or are they saying it has been postponed until the economy picks up?
I would tend to agreed with you Bren, all you'll get to pick from are the houses that noboby wants. Not good from your point of view, but you could pick up a real bargain if you negotiate hard. Get them to furnish it etc etc. Drive a hard bargain.

Hi Bren,
I'm on Golf Suites and may end up in a similar situation - we haven't had a commencement date let alone a completion date!! If PW fails to provide the basics covered by the Contract (I know that details may vary) then surely they are obliged to return your deposit and stage payments, no matter how reluctant they are?

Yeah totally agree, wont know anything until we contact agent and lawyer to see what our options are with Polaris.
We dont really want to accept something we didn't go for the first time around, (no offence intended to anyone on the other phases lads) unless we get a pretty damn good deal to take one.
Even if they offered us one sure we've no mortgage in place right now anyway to fund it.
Will Polaris refund our deposits paid so far If we dont decide to take an alternative? I dont know.....
To answer Ali's question they said "it was indefinitely delayed and they couldnt give us a completion date"....so make of that what you will, but I reckon thats a cover to say we havent sold enough units to finish the phase so were not gonna start it.....but thats my guess, not quoted from Polaris.
We've some thinking time ahead, including all the other buyers on Mirador........Thinking of you all.

If PW have put El Mirador on hold and possibly the Golf Suites, does anyone know if they have even started the big villas that are supposed to be next to Golf Suites..? PW have stated before that they need to develop the site to accommodate to cater all levels of owners from the appartments right upto the large villas costing over 1million. This would mean that services and facillities would be of a higher than normal standard.

Hi all,
I have also had an email from PW to tell us that our Penthouse on Phase 2 is now delayed and they cant give us a date yet. I suspect too that it is due to low demand, but they haven't said as much.
They have offered us another Penthouse on Phase 1, but we already have one here near the clubhouse, which they are pushing for us to complete on, it wasn't due till March 09. I wanted phase 2 because it was supposed be slightly bigger and nearer the Oasis shopping. They have also offered us discounts on some of the other PW resorts. I am going over to Spain next week and I have made an appointment to see our Solicitor to see what our options are for getting our money back on this second one.

Hi all
@lytton...We are buying on Golf Suites & spoke to PW today. They said completion will still be late 2009 but I know for sure that the Suites & the villas next door had definately NOT been started 3 weeks ago. So I would assume that the villa completion date would be similar to the Suites.
