Am I wrong in thinking that everybody says that it never rains there.  It seems to have been raining for weeks!

hi boys,

My hat goes off to you for even trying to work out how much rain is falling(wouldn't know where to start calculations)  .  But who cares as long as it stops on Sunday evening, but your right chrissurf I was also told it never rains in the Murcia region.  Wouldn't it just be our luck, global warming, Spanish weather turns out to be like Britains and vise versa

Climate Murcia enjoys a yearly average of 2,800 hours of sunshine The region of Murcia has the typical Mediterranean semi-arid subtropical climate: namely an average annual temperature of 18ºC, with hot summers (registering absolute maximum temperatures of 40ºC) and mild winters (an average temperature of 11ºC in the winter months of December and January). The number of days per year with clear skies is 120-150, with approximately 2,800 sun-hours per annum. In general rain is scarce throughout the region (approx. 300-350 mm/year), falling mainly in the spring (April) and autumn (October), leaving the summer an eminently dry season. The region of Murcia is characterised by certain climatic differences which may lead to variation in the above-mentioned figures. These variations depend on the orientation and exposure to the dominant winds, the distance from the sea and the configuration of relief. Due to these factors, the temperature differences between the coast and the interior are much more extreme in the winter. On the coast temperatures tend never to fall below 10ºC, whilst inland at higher altitudes they may not exceed 6ºC. The latter areas show a higher average annual rainfall, which reaches 600 mm/yr.

Hi Everyone

Well they said the last lot of rain was this 'Gota Fria' dooberry thing and its been back since Tuesday evening, we have seen some heavy rainfalls and fast winds and its still raining on and off, pretty dismal but still very humid throughout the day and a little chilly at night.

For those that I am watching all is fine, I have also noticed throughout the last few weeks that ' Strips' have appeared on several apartments without notice, I am assuming that PW are fitting them on outside of doors just as precaution or after some of you have complained and they seem very effective.

Hope your all well, as you can tell by my lack of postings extremely busy having to do daily checks rather than weekly and also internet still on a go slow, but I am still alive although not so much kicking as it still hurts my neck and shoulder to attempt any sudden movements.   Thanks for all your messages and well wishes after my accident

Take care and see you soon

Glad to have you back on line Carol! We've all missed your presence on the forum. You must be up the wall with everything that's happened, but you sound like you're coping. Just wait till you're on your own then scream really loud! Tan
