Thought this would be a good thread to start, we all know about the Rose and Thistle in the village but variety is the spice of life!!
Tonight we tried the new Chinese Wok Buffet on the industrial estate where you turn off the 3319 at Balsicas and go towards Roldan. It was really good, they made us feel very welcome the food was fresh and very tasty - they even had pancakes. plum sauce and duck!! We left with our free bottle of wine and promises that we would be back!!

The Cathedral Square in Murcia has around 6 restaurants all of which very good. On a Sunday the spanish are all dressed in best and go for drinks and food here soaking up the atmosphere. You have the fantastic view of the Cathedral and usually entertainers and music to go with yr meal. Sometimes a wedding also, we love it!

For a more special occasion has anyone tried La Casa del Reloj in San Pedro Del Pinatar? This has always been one of my favourite restaurants ever since I first chose to have a house built in San Cayetano. They have also now opened up another restaurant at the front called Arlequin which, I assume, is more a pizza/pasta place but also looks excellent.
The food and wines at La Casa del Reloj are fanastic and the Piano Bar upstairs offers a great place to either meet up or finish the evening. Went there in September when I was over and it certainly lived up to expectations once again!

Pinot,
Where abouts is the restaurant you are talking about?
I can recommend Rancho Blanco, which is on the first exit after the toll on the AP7 towards Torrevieja.( Entrance is actually on the roundabout) It's up a dirt track and is always very popular ( especially with the spanish). I can recommend the slow cooked lamb. Theree's also some good restaurants in the plaza at VillaMartin.
Tina, the cathedral square sounds fabulous - is it easy to find?

Karen,
Not so good as you at the A roads over there. You come off the road that passes the turnoff for Dolces Marres (hope I've spelt that right) and take the NEXT exit off. Go around the roundabout and there is a massive chinese restaurant on the corner of the road you need to drive down. About 300 yards on the left is the extrance to the restaurant. To make it easier the website is www.restaurantelacasadelreloj.com and address is Crta. Nacional 332-724 San Pedro del Pinatar. Telephone Number is 00 34 968 18 24 06 - hope this helps. Will certainly try Rancho Blanco when I am back over in SC.

Thanks Pinot,
I'm over next week so will try to find it. I will have a good look around Murcia too as usually we've been too busy doing things.
Take care
Karen

Karen - have a great time over there! If you do go to the restaurant let me know what you think. Like you I still have so many areas to explore - my son thinks Murcia is a beautiful city. Perhaps next year I will be able to spend a bit more time exploring! and less shopping for the property.

Hi All
I am just back from spain and thought I would add to this thread - Sunrise in Cabo roig is a great restaurant and at the moment and through Feb they are doing there set evening menu 2 for 1 this means €19.90 for 2 there are abourt 6 starters 8 mains and 4 sweets - food and service is great.
We also tried the Oriental Restaurante that we were recommended to try at San Pedro it is on the right hand side on a corner just back from the boat roundabout and just back a bit from Lidle on the opposite side - can't remember the name it has a set meal for 2 €26 this included wine or beer.
Hope you enjoy
Nikki
