Hi folks,
There is probably a thread covering this somewhere, but I am just wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to purchase (and install) our air conditioning units.
Thanks for your help,
Ann

You'll get loads of recommendations but we are considering the recent Polaris offer of 3 x2 units for 1900 euro's. 2 Samsung hot/cold and 1 cold Kentto invertors.

Hi
We have a 3-bed in Los Naranjos and are using Simply Air-con. They came recommended to us by someone who has used them for many years - they're a local company. Its 2300 for 4 units hot & cold. Its being installed on 15th Jan so I'm happy to revert on success when I get out there at end-Jan ...

We also used Gary from Polarair.........Did a good job on the installation (Panasonic 3 x 2). Still waiting for him to come & fit surge protection though. Just had a few days in Condado over the Xmas period & the Hot A/C worked fine - no need for any additional heating. The Panasonic units are really quiet in "quiet" mode too

I used Bradley and Aaron of chilloutcostablanca.com and am very satisfied. The gentlemen also fitted lighting in my apartment, surge protection and a reverse osmosis system for drinkable water as part of a package deal for panasonic e-ion machines 4 interior, 2 exterior. Nice and reliable chaps. Fantastic system and very quiet.

For owners of Penthouse apartments that fall within block 1 to 7 then I must be the bearer of BAD news. With regard to the pre-installed air-conditioning, 98% of the resort has or will be finished to a standard that will only require the units to be installed and away you go.
Blocks 1 - 7 ONLY as I have been informed will require more work and consequently more money spending on them prior to final installation.
A cost cutting exercise employed by Polaris World to speed up completion has meant that no electrical wiring has been put in any of these apartments. The cheapest cost for wiring alone is £200 sterling, for me it is not just the money as in the grand scheme it is not a huge amount, the issue for me is one of principle and double standards. Polaris have not deemed it necesary to advise the effected customers of the change of building specification and when you try and question this matter with them you hit a brick wall. Happy with the apartment but not at all with Polaris.
Los Naranjos Penthouses is a third choice for me owing to a catalogue of errors by Polaris and this does not fill me with confidence in my builder.
If any comfort can be provided then I would recommend Gary and Bev at Polarair, they have been very helpful and reasonable and have after care also

Hi Morgan
Surely the extra cost for the air conditioning wiring has got to be paid for by polaris as there sales literature clearly states all apartments fitted with pre-installed air con ( IE pre- installed pipe work and wiring ) ready to just connect your own air con units All the propertys that are effected should get together on this point and seek compensation from polaris or better still get polaris to rectify the problem why should you have all this hassle when it was there fault

Graham

I agree "FORWARD IN UNITY" may be the answer for a long term resolution. At present it has taken six weeks of negotiation for Polaris World directors to say "NO" to any financial compensation. The contract description of "PRE-INSTALLED AIR CON" is not specific enough to specify wiring and plumbing ect as such my solicitor also sits on the fence. I would welcome any other owners effected ( ie:- penthouses block 1- 7) to offer opinion!!!!!!!! Unfortunatley in the meantime owing to time parameters I have been forced to outlay the extra cash for installation to begin making use of property!!!!!!

We are hoping to complete any day now on Block 2 penthouses. Another significant issue for us is whether the wiring and piping will now need to be on the external surface of the wall rather than in the cavities. Can anybody advise us if this is the case?
This is our first reply, and we would like to thank everyone for all the advice and information, it has been really invaluable. Looking forward to putting faces to names soon!!!
