Does anyone know about what activities are available for kids?, ... ballet, gymnastics etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tina,

There are plenty of English and Spanish run clubs for kids over here now but it is probably better for you to pick up copies of the local free newspapers covering the Costa Calida area (such as the 'Reporter', 'Leader' and 'Round Town News') when you get here as this is where the majority of social clubs and events are advertised.

The local sports centres also run swimming, dancing and martial arts clubs for children from as young as 3 but extra curricular activities are more commonly attached to the international schools than the Spanish state schools.

Thanks for your reply and also for the advice on schools, much appreciated and i agree with you. When you say activities at the local sports centre do you mean in San Cayetano itself?, i didn't realise there was one.  The reason im so interested is because we wont have a car for a while so if i could walk to these activities that would be brilliant.

To those who are moving out with children this month, any info on good kids activities near San cayetano please please forward on. Word of mouth is so important to find the good places... english or spanish based. If anyone knows of a good ballett school my daughter wants to hear from you yesterday!!!! Thanks IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! The rain is doing my head in here.
