Golf Course pictures

Great photos of the golf course.  I was hoping to get the chance to see how far they had got on the other side of the mound a couple of weeks ago when I was out , but unfortunately the time went so quick!

Do you think we will get a visit from the great Jack Nicklaus for the grand opening ?

By all accounts Jack has been very involved personally, so who knows - would be fantastic if there was a grand opening and he turned up - would certainly put the place on the map.  I think it will be a stunning course, and some of the back tees look terrifying! - and the 13th green - well I don't know how that will be playable if the greens have any pace whatsoever! - it slopes back to front, left to right and didn't seem to have a flat area anywhere! That said, I can't wait!

Ted mate,  do you know when they are going to drain the fairways ?

Can I ask you ........what is meant by "drain the fairways"...........I am interested in when they will be seeded!!.   The fairways in front of our block.......9th, 18th & 10th still show no sign of growth -despite it warming up now.  I understand from Cuz, that they have been seeded with some special grass, but I thought we would see some growth by now........the bloody stuff is certainley growing in my back garden - and the Spring temp in Durham is hardly Spain!!

I know its sort of a chinese whisper but .... I was talking to a local resident recently who when out was discussing the course with one of the guys working for Nicklaus golf. He reckoned that the course would be ready and playable in November.

Look at the lakes..................... then I think you will get the jist of his comments. Fairways need to be wider for some than others !!!You did not expect a serious slant from Shampers did you ?

I hope you are not suggesting shampers needs wide fairways as that is not true..........he doesn't hit the ball far enough to worry about that!

Great pictures, the bunkering and mounding look fantastic. Lakes looking good,  I've got some floating balls if your interested Shampers.

Ant, i can't see many people lowering their handicap on this course, unless they are bandits in the first place LOL.

Can't wait to try it out but not till Xmas break I fear. Me and Skell will take on allcomers in matchplay eh Nick.

Gotta admit my golf is in need of an upgrade so I've booked some lessons with Barry Burn and Jean Velde, am gonna sail round that course

Great pics Ted.  Did notice on the 8th hole though,  the two workmen.  One has obviously plugged his ball in the sand and is on his knees trying to locate it.  The other one holding a shovel...... Someone needs to tell him his grips all wrong.

As regards Xmas game.  Count me in.  If I'm not playing too well I can always row my own boat.  Ah yes this recession.  I used to have a yacht and two mistresses.  Now I have a rowing boat and two oars.
