Hi all,

Just packing my hand luggage and I have been swapping from case to case for the last three hours.  As we have only 20kg each and 5 kgs hand luggage, I came up with an idea to ditch the hand luggage cases and use "Morrissons shopping totes. Well what do you think the weight is half the amount am taking three and don,t have to go around with hardly any clothes to change for 9 days not that I am taking much anyway its all household things.

So when I  return I dont have any hand luggage to carry.  What a brilliant idea if I say so myself!

SEE YOU ALL AT THE BAR BETWEEN 7-8PM  AND YOU TOO CAROL  WE WANT TO MEET EVERYONE.

ON SATURDAY EVENING 11TH APRIL.

We're trying to do the same at the moment to.  Our tip is to wear as many of your layers as you can on the plane then take them off when you land!!! Makes you look a stone heavier but means you can bring more.  We're planning to come to the bar on the Saturday night too to meet some new people. Happy packing, Andrea & Paul

Hi

What a good idea for a thread.

If you are taking clothing and things out to leave, buy canvas type cases which will fold up to bring back in your hand luggage, that way you will not be paying the airline for a suitcase in both directions if not needed.

Unfortunately most of the budget airlines do not miss a trick and dont allow you to make a choice as to how many bags you wish to check in on each journey. If you buy a return ticket and opt to check a bag in, you will automatically be charged to bring it back

Only way to avoid it is to book 2 separate single journeys but then you get stung for credit card fees etc

I think they invented the phrase 'damned if you do, damned if you dont' !

I use Monarch and with them you can book a case for each flight separately

if you have to pay for return baggage, surely you know someone who smokes, if so fill the bags with cigarettes and sell them on to make a handsome profit, by the way it is 16 sleeves each, any more and your over the limit, it usually pays for the return flight and car,

Would not recommend reselling cigs purchased in Spain. It is illegal.

Then again 90% of the things builders do in Spain are illegal...................... but in Spain they don't have a grinning, lessening by the year Scottish accented self important butter wouldn't melt in Carol Smileys mouth presenter called .............. gawd i can't name him as it might be illegal to do so,  bloke on Watchdog to get some good viewing figures look after us and our various issues that appear illegal but cost so damn much in legal fees to prove it.......

What was this thread again ?

Anyway, buy your cigs in Qatar (no you), and re-sell them, about 4x as much profit as the ones bought in Spain

Mañana as always

And what's wrong with having a Scottish accent?

Too much xenophobia going on here. Live and let live folks. :)
