local markets

Fellow neighbours,has anyone any info on local markets.I am informed that Mazzeron has a good Sunday market.Has anyone been,or can confirm this.

Yes there is a fairly large market at Mazarron on a Sunday. Not sure what time it starts or finishes though. It is just as you come into Mazarron from Condado, past the shopping centre.Carry on for about 4/5 mins and you come to a set of lights. It is about a five minute walk over on your right somewhere. Dont know the name of the area but just follow the crowds.

Here is a list of some of the markets, got it from the tourist information but it was some time ago so not sure if 100% accurate.

Monday      San Pedro del Pinatar.

Tuesday      Los Alcazares, Los Belones and La Union.

Local markets

Wednesday AM    TOTANA

Saterday   Am    Mazarron

Sunday AM  Puerto de Mazarron

The Sunday one is the biggest, but the Totana one isn't bad either. Saterdays is rather small

Alhama de Murcia is Tuesday am

Canadas de Romero  car boot on Sunday  1st of month biggest

We visited Puerto Mazarron market when we were over at Easter, it is big. We got there about 10.30am and it was in full swing. Its located somewhere near Calle Axial (can'nt remember exact road but follow the crowds, also you can get a map at the tourist centre with it marked on).

The range of products include: food, clothes inc shoes, bedding, artwork, ourdoor furniture, plants amongst other things

The market in Puerto Mazarron on a Sunday morning is very near to the Hotel La Cumbre.  As you come into the port, there is a sign somewhere on the right for the hotel - it is quite a tall building and I think there is also a sign for the bus station or taxi rank somewhere in that area as well.  If you find the hotel, you won't be far away.

Have also heard that the market in Alhama in very good - cheap too!  I think that starts quite early and is all packed away by 1.00 pm so that the locals can go for their siestas!
