Foro

I spoke to Customer Services when I was out in Condado on Monday, and they said its unlikely the Foro will be open on 1st July. They said it could be anytime in late July/August, so fingers crossed. The workman were there for the few days I was out, so at least  work is still going on. They could only confirm a Clover Irish bar & supermarket, couldn't get any other info out of them!

Having just got back and had a look inside the Foro, I'd say there was no chance it would open on July 1st. It is coming along, but there appears to be only 1 unit that is being fitted out at the moment.

Hi Guys we were over at the Foro yesterday and The clover Bar has the chairs and tables in ready, we put new photos up on the community site www.condadodealhamaservices.com

The supermarket is also ready for fixtures. The council and customer service both said to us it was on schedule for those two opening on July 1st, the other units they would work on around us.

We fly back home from a short break late on the 1st July - we might hopefully squeeze a first drink in at the Clover before we depart for the airport

Clover Bar looks great, cant wait to have a pint in there, when it opens in July. Is there any more details about any other units in the Foro.

Will the July opening just be the Clover Bar and Supermarket? Is there any news on the Italian Restaurant, The Rice Restaurant and the other Bar that have been promissed.

We really need some kind of restaurant on site, its now 12 months since I completed and there are still no restaurants within a 5 mile redius!

Thank him up above that there seems to be no white anything any where in the Clover.   To be perfectly honest I think one restaurant at present is enough, would rather have one busy place  than a load of empty places.  If it turns out that one restaurant is not enough then they can open another but lets walk first  before we start running.

Just found out from another thread, we are not getting a restaurant!

Darren what thread are you refering to? as the one I think you are Cherrie says 'is it definate?' not 'it is definate'.

I far as I am aware the 2 restaurants are going ahead as planned and this was confirmed in an email I recieved last week, am I missing some new info here?

Sorry Dan, misread Cherrie's thread. I have not had it confirmed that we are not getting a restaurant. However the Foro is due to open in 3 weeks time and there is no mention of a restaurant. Looking at the photos the Clover bar and supermarket are pretty much finished, but there is nothing else as yet.

I am guessing that next month the Foro will open with the Bar and Supermarket, with hopefully a restaurant to follow.

Did Polaris confirm to you that there will be a restaurant opening in July?

I dont see why not, we have a similar amount of properties to La Torre and they have lots of Bars and Restaurants? I am sure it would be full every night?

No probs mate, I guess they are working on them behinds the scenes, as with the Clover, I didn't even know they had started on that and was really surprised when I saw the picy's.

Maybe they will open the pub & supermarket first and then restaurants when they are ready.

They did tell me by email and face to face that the bar, restaurant & supermarket will be open for summer.

Have just had quick look on La Torre website and Clover Bar there serves snacks and light meals.  Take it our one will do the same, perhaps not the same as having proper resturant, but might be better than having to go to Camposol or P Mazzarron .

I am sure the Clover will do snacks, I have visited the ones at MMGR and LTGR, they both serve food. However its 12 Euro for a burger! Still thats less than a taxi to Camposol!

Clover Burgers all round next month! Yeah!

Having been to both Mar Menor and La Torre, I thought that the Clover bar was great but more adult orientated, so whilst I agree it is a great step forward I would much rather have seen a more family friendly bar/restaurant opened first, having somewhere nice within walking distance that caters for everyone having a relaxing meal or drink.  Is there even going to be such a place?

Carol, I dont think there is such a place planned, MMGR doesnt really have anything like this, although there are pool tables in Pino Bar at LTGR, think thats as close to a family place as Polaris will get! Although being single with no kids, I am just glad of a place to drink!

Hi all,

We've just come back from a week in Condado last night. In that time the transformation to the front / outside of the foro was quite dramatic. First few days they were putting decorative tiles in the walk way up to the front gates, then the turfers came and grass has gone right across the front and round the edge of the car park, then they've added some clusters of low, bushy palms either side of the path to the main entrance - so all looking much nicer. Also lots of activity inside. Unfortunately we kept putting off taking photos til the end of our visit and then forgot! - sorry.

p.s. we heard whilst out there that the new supermarket opens on 1st July and other one shuts at same time. This information came from our key holder who lives on site.
