.........and there will be a lot of time to practise prior to the course being ready
Sorry Roy - I appreciate your inputs and professional capacity but these are small crumbs of comfort.

What the hell has Thomas Cook advert got to do with the driving range?
I'm all for businesses advertising but only in the right place . Come on Sponsored, stop putting your advert after evry post please, you're making the threads very difficult and boring to follow!

Hi all
I've been out and tried the driving range, putting green, chipping green and bunker all of which are top quality. If these are anything to go by the course will be absolutely fantastic as far as condition of greens etc is concerned. Lets hope Corvera have the best green-staff to ensure this when it eventually happens.
On a side-note I was given FREE tokens at the sales office to try this out and I also heard directly from an owner that has completed that he has had Roda made available to him F.O.C. until the course is playable.
Side-note 2 , Corvera have also made a deal with a local riding stable for discounted trekking etc. until the Equestrian centre is built.
It's just a shame that Calidona don't inform ALL purchasers of these deals until asked. I did suggest a more positive approach to the sales staff but was met with the usual shrug of the shoulders.

Thanks Steve for both this reply and the one on the spa tub. Glad to hear the driving range etc have turned out to be the quality promised. I too have heard that use of the golf course at Roda will be free of charge until Corvera's course is up and running. Also, I had read somewhere that the equestrian centre has been put on hold until the economy improves, so the use of discount trekking is also a plus - not that I can ride a horse!! How was the Clubhouse progressing?

Hi Anita.
I'm afraid the club house is just a hole in the ground at the moment but at least it's a hole and the crane did move once whilst we were there.
Remember it is August and the Spanish building trade basically shuts down for a month. From what I've heard it would have been rained off anyway if it were being built in the U.K.
That being said, there were a lot of plumbers/electricians/ painters and carpenters working on site though especially on the South Island and boy do those landscapers love digging weeds in the 40 degree heat.

Hi Steve and Jane,
Thank you for the info, so good to hear such positive feedback from someone who has been to see for himself.
Any news about phase 3 starting? We are phase 3 near where the sales office was.

Hi Shudi,
No great news I'm afraid as they are still awiating the final licences for phase 3. One thing to remember is that this is not just final planning on a 3-bedroom bungalow but rather on around 400 properties in total at both ends of the developement.
Rest assured it will be worth the wait. As I said to Jane when we stood on the 'Peanut' roundabout and looked across the ten holes of the golf course to the driving range, the sports area etc.etc. which will eventually become our everyday view, "I'll wait 10 years if needs must"!

Dear Steve and Jane,
I realise there are many properties involved, strange how sales office told me they had been granted the licence a few weeks ago.
I'm just eager to know when Phase 3 will be started as I am looking for a property in France and trying to time it right so can live at Corvera in case work has to be carried out on french property.

Hi Steve and jane
Pleased you enjoyed the visit over and the driving range facilities, just to add to this we went down to La manga club after spending many holidays there in the past and were extremely disappinted in the facilities that look run down around the practice area. Both Corvera and Roda stand above what is labelled a top golf resort.
Just to add also that the tennis courts are free at present also as the booking facilities are not open. couple that with the Free golf at Roda including buggies and this will ahve been one of the cheapest holidays on record.
Whilst out here played the Hacienda del Alama, which seems to have so many roads to nowhere and interestingly no cranes for future build something both Roda and Corvera have and are moving, including the clubhouse which has had so much concrete poured over the last week it must start coming above ground soon. The 5 star hotel on the Hacienda del alama is also not open and didn't see any workmen on site.
Will give a fuller update when I return home in just over a week after spending a month on Corvera including pictures.
regards
