Help - Community Tax and other charges?

I wonder if anyone can help. We are owners of a first floor 2 bed apartment Los Naranjos. We were expecting Community Tax to be taken from our account over the last week or so for April - June. We did have an email from RPM to say that we would pay old charges for April and new ones for May and June, so we were expecting two payments to come out. So far we have only had one payment of €97.35, but then yesterday we had €21.77 taken for an item listed as "SF NO RESIDENTES". Any one have any idea what this is for? Also, anyone else had just one month taken?

Hi Rachel and Simon,

The €97.35 will probably be the community fee for April, the line on you statement should say something like "RECIBO NARANJOS: J " .  The €21.77 is most likely the bank charges for non-resident certification, by law if you have a non-resident bank account you need to have a certificate proving such renewed every two years, the bank usually does on your behalf, but of course charges you.

That's interesting, this was never mentioned by the bank or our solicitor. Funny how these extra charges keep popping up!

We also sent the same request to the bank and our contact there has replied saying "it is life insurance renewal". I don't think so, think you are probably right, sounds more like no resident tax charges. In addition, we have already paid life insurance up to Feb 2010. Seems the bank don't even know what they're doing.  Thanks for your help.

Have you had your May and June community tax payments taken yet? Also, do you have any idea how long we will be on builders supply for?

Nope, they have taken April's but not May/Junes although I know they have for some.

At the moment theres no sight of meters being installed in Naranjos so hopefully we will be on builders suppy for at least the next few months.

We will keep an eye on our bank account movements, I am sure they will take May/June soon.

Good news about the builders supply, at least we have some savings there!

Heard the bar and supermarket have opened now, looks like things are coming along nicely.
