whats in the area

I have been asked by some friends about whats for the kids in the area ages 9 & 11 they will try most things

Camposol - Alleys Palais has ten pin bowling and pool tables

Scotties (not far from Camposol) bar has a mini golf course

Water Park at Vera

Espuna Adventures - not sure if theres an age limit - do mountain biking and have quads available

Terra Natura & Terra Aqua in Murcia

Meta Riding Stables ? not sure of location but reasonably local

Calida Fishing do both fishing & leisure trips out of Puerto Mazarron

Pawson Paintball - somewhere near Cartagena

Mar Menor will have all sorts of water activies (jetski's, fun water rides etc)

There is also cycle hire onsite (Jill & Terry)

Hope this lot keeps them entertained!!! :)

I've been looking at this query too although for 10-15 yr olds- for my brother. I know there's a water park close to IKEA that charges 21 euro's per adult and 16 euro's per child. There's also a Zoo at the same venue and I think a further entrance fee for that of 13 euro's (someone correct me if the waterpark fee covers the Zoo too or if you just want the Zoo its 13 euro's)

Then there's the Mariposa Hotel in the Sierra Espuna that offers quad bikes and other outsoor options and as we have driven up to the Hotel ourselves I know thats around 30 mins from CdA. Beyond the Mariposa (in fact quite some distance beyond) there is Karting- we would probably find this again but would have to google to give instructions.

There's Bolnuevo beach, Puerto Mazarron beach and Aguilas beach.

Los Alcazares has nice beaches and holiday atmosphere.

We've also directed them to the shopping malls at Leroy Merlin and by IKEA- because there's some fast food outlets there as well as the shopping. I also just rememberd the Dos Mares shopping mall San Javier way.

My brother drove down to the Mar Menor and along the La Manga strip, which from previous threads are not everyone's cup of tea,  in his brief visit earlier this year and I know he plans to do that drive again. Once beyond the hotels and apartments towards the end of the strip there are pulling in places with small sandy outcrops down to the water which he plans to use for a late picnic and swim for the children and then go back along the strip and let the children have a wander around a few of the beachside shops.

There's also bike hire on the resort.

I would imagine pretty much everything would still be open EXCEPT the water parks & the Mar Menor activities may not be as plentiful. It is always best to check their individual websites for more info though.

BTW - looked up Meta riding centre and it is just up the road past Los Ventrillos toward El Palmar.

NOT FAR FROM META THERE IS A GO KART CENTRE  AND OUT AT LA PNILLA  IN THE COUNTRY THERE IS ELECTRONIC CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING , SHOTGUNS WITH NO KICK WOMEN ARE AMONGST THE HIGH SCORES - BEAT THE BLOKE AT SHOOTING!!

Also 4 euros each for sunbed(with a refund of 1 euro per bed, when you finish with them)

Don't know if this does include the Zoo as we didn't go to it.

I would suggest taking your own picnic although you can buy food and drink there

Far to technical  I understand that on some sat navs   what ever they are!!  we are still in a field  I have just had 1mb internet installed and I am in heaven I even have skype working. . This is not uk my son said my dongle was not even dial up . . I understand Tom Tom is the better system for here as you can put co ordinates in.   Poor things!!!

For a great family day out I'd strongly recommend Terra Mittica Theme Park in Benidorm, about a 1 and-a-half hour drive away.

We went there last week and I must admit I was kind of dreading it as queuing in 36deg heat for an hour for a 2 minute ride is my idea of hell. But in fact it wasn't like that at all, it was surprisingly quite for the time of year and we could get on the all rides right away. Turned out we had a great time, me included. :)

To cap it someone outside gave us two '2 for the price of 1 vouchers' they had laft over, so we got in for half price.
