How do you know people are in El Pinet properties without paying the balance of purchase?  What about keys being handed over etc.  Is this fact or speculation.

You will find this is very true, there are people on this forum who live there.   There is also a forum for El Pinet where you may find more details.

When San Jose first entered into administrations, one of their first attempts of raising money was to license the properties at El Pinet in order to force residents to pay the final amount. 

In order to obtain Licenses the Council have to sign off the urbanisation, in order to sign off the urbanisation it has to be finished,  in order to finish the urbanisation San Jose need money... and so it goes.

I have been told this by people living at Pinet, they would have no reason to lie about this but it is not for me to name them as that would not be my place to do so.

San Jose also mentioned that they had people waiting to complete who's houses are ready but have thankfully been advised to wait for the LFO, SJ have to go along with this and cannot take the house from them but on the other hand if SJ go completely bankrupt then the bank has every right to sieze the property and the client would lose everything. This is sometimes the reason why some lawyers advise people to complete without the LFO as then the property is secure, it is what our lawyer is urging us to do should it ever get finished (pigs might fly) but we would want to wait for the LFO and take our chances, we would not like to end up like the people at Torrevieca, waiting 30 years for the LFO and then being told by the town hall that they have to pay for the work to get finished themselves to get the LFO.
