We are completing on La Isla does anyone know if the water and electric will be connected when we get the keys or do we have to apply for this?  If so how long does it take?

 Hi Shelly4steve

We were over last week, went to apartment for first time, water on not sure about electric, but lifts were working, but as only wires poking out for light fittings guess electric not on, think you need to request it from PW.

Regards

Michael and Yvonne

Having been down this route in the Jardines then if you have ticked the boxes on the polaris form allowing them to arrange Water and Electric then they deal with everything and the connection fees are removed from your bank.

(Form used on completion at Notary)

If you have not then you have to arrange yourself with the Water and Elect Companies.

You will probably get free Electric and Water for some time (We had six months) after that if you did not allow PW to arrange and you have done nothing you get nothing. No Water and No Electric

Mick

Just a quick warning re the Iberdrola charges.  I and my neighbour had Polaris sort this out.  Due to a mix up somewhere, I believe with Iberdrola, my neighbours bank details were allocated to my power account and my bank details to someone else's.  I don't know if this only affected a few people or a lot but it would be worth checking your bank details against the Iberdrola invoices.

Iberdrola have asked that I request my bank to take back all my payments to them so they can then recharge me the proper amounts.  In my case the difference is minimal (€10).  The real issue is when my neighbour stopped their payments (on my account) my bills were no longer being paid, even though I was seeing payments leaving my bank account.  If your bills are being sent to an unoccupied apartment you may not realise your bills are not being paid and before you find out you could find yourself disconnected.
