Transit Van hire and where to buy Domestic Appliances

We are coming over in a few weeks to start furnishing our apartment on La Isla and plan buying a lot of the big furnishings from IKEA, does any know from whom we can hire a Transit Van or similar, I would ideally like to pick it from Alicante or Murcia Airport.

Andy & Sue, you can hire a transit from Ikea, it is not Ikea themselves but just a company that is situated in their building, they do 4 hour hire which is ideal to get to condado and back, we just left our hire car in Ikea car park and picked it up when we returned the van.

Also there is a large electrical store called Saturn that stocks domestic appliances as we picked up a freezer the same day whilst we had the van.

No need to book the van just turn up and off you go.

Centauro operate out of Murcia (and I think Alicante), and hire vans of various sizes.  I hired a "Transit Connect", which is the smaller version of the transit, when I fitted out my place last year.  It was fine as a car (for 2)/van and could handle everything I needed, beds, matresses, white goods etc.

Don't know how cost would compare with hiring a car and then a few hours of a van.

Must admit I don't know the cost of Van hire over car hire, but If you only need the van for the IKEA run etc then I can recommend Steve ( endpeg on EOS ).   Steve is "a man with a Van", that does IKEA run's etc plus many other things besides, drop him a PM.

We have just returned from Condado de Alhama, looking really good and didn't want to come home, you can hire a van from Ikea direct for either 4 hours for 33 euros or for a day for 41 Euros, they even sell electrical appliances now and are very reasonable.  Hope this helps.
