Does anyone know what english TV stations are piped into the apartments?

Also, can you upgrade the tv stations with a digi box to get more?

Got a full list of programmes (includes all BBC, ITV, Cahnnel 4, 5 etc etc etc + sports etc ++++++  over 50 channels....)

for 20 euros PM and I believe installation of 195 E.

I got a contact for TV from Celia in Corvera. They have around 75 TV channels, plus around 20 radio channels. TV channels include BBC123&4, ITV123&4, C4&5, Sky News, BBC News, CNN, Nat Geo, Film 4, E4, Disney Channel etc etc.

Installation is free in Corvera, and the charge per month (all in) is E20. Their email address is info (at) teleastdigital (dot) com

I have only applied for it as yet, so can't vouch for the quality but am sure it'll be OK as Corvera are supplying the contact details.

Hi,

I was in my apartment for the first time last week and tuned in my TV to usual Corvera reception without Satellite - so free to view.

I got several languages of  channels, around 5 in English, certainly BBC  &ITV and some sports channels, so that was free, if that helps.

I was over a couple of weeks back (During the monsoons) and on one day we had itv 1 & 2 and the other day we only had bbc1 & 2.

Does anyone know what channels are distributed for free and what is pay-per-view and a list of these channels.

I am going back over in a couple of weeks, but any heads up would be appreciated.

BBC 1 & 2, ITV1 & 2 y Sky News are free, I am told by the office, Chris. Although I haven't found Sky news yet!

The office can give you a list of all the radio and Satellite channels for €20 per month - free fitting until Christmas I understand.

If Corvera is going to be the same as Roda ( I think this is the case )

The pay as you go will be from TELEAST DIGITAL ,  they have 70  TV channels plus 20 Radio stations ,

At the moment they are advertising for NIL cost  re the Installation with Euso"s 20 a month after that.

They are talking about getting Premier League Football very soon plus Movies etc

If you have a Villa or penthouse, also think about getting a Digital Aerial and freeview DBT box. Aerial about 40e and box from 20e (some TV's even have DBT built in). Its not really an alternative to a satellite system more of an as well as. You get about 30 channels, several of which can be changed into english if the programme was made in English  e.g. Disney Channel etc. Also, you get live Prmiership football on Saturdays (sound in Spanish but just put Radio 5 on or something) and loads of other goodies. Like I say not really an alternative to satellite just an as well as.  I got mine from Leroy Merlin in Cartagena. Happy viewing.  P.S. The community By laws in Roda prohibit the erection of aerials on all properties and it is very likely that it will be the same in Corvera so it would be an idea to check as you will be asked to remove it by the community. I know several people on Roda who have had to remove their aerials under instruction from the community administrator who upholds the By Laws.

It is unlikely that the communities will be formed for a while yet but the rules will apply nonetheless and it is not worth paying out for something that has to be taken down. We have the package at 20 euro a month from Teleast and it is a good service with BBC1,2,3,4 ITV 1,2,3,4, Channel 4,5 More 4, Film 4, MGM film channel, Hollywood film channel, Cine Star Film channel, MBC with several film channels, Eurosport, Nat Geographic, History Channel etc and although we don't have SKY sports it is a good package and I would recommend it especially if installation is free as we paid 400 euro for installation when we first came to Roda.

The channels you get free ie you pay around 2.50 per month to the community through your community fees are BBC1 and 2, ITV 1 and 2 and we used to get Sky news but not sure if it is still there or not as we use satellite all of the time. The reception on all television channels satellite etc is only ever affected when there is serious electrical storms as all of the cables are fibre optic and under the properties.

The teleeast system has to have a dish though doesnt it ? Will the same problem not apply.

The teleast system does not need a dish which is why it is recommended by Calidona I would imagine.

The television company provide you with a decoder and the system is wired into the wall. All cabling for the system is by fibre optic cable so nothing is above ground in the resorts.
