Spanish taxes

I've been trying to read about and understand Spanish property taxes :(

Can anyone explain how you go about registering your property to pay taxes.  Does the tax office contact you or do you have to do the leg work.  I have read about some 'stickers' that are required.  What are they for and how do you get them?

This varies by region howvever all you really need are the services of a local Spanish accountant to submit you annual tax return however cahnces are any income will be liable to tax in the UK depending on how you receive the payments

They will know about you and the property through land registration and you NIE number which they now tie together but you have to do the legwork, especially as a non-resident tax payer
