FLOODS

Hi All

after talking to Carol regarding the bad rain over there, P.W. have apparently said, any water damage due to the terrible weather, i.e. floods or leaks to property's all owners have to claim from their own personal insurance cover, even though the properties are still under guarentee.

So basically our 10 year building warranty is not worth the paper it is written on and also what happened to the year we had for all snagging to be completed , or is this another false promise by Polaris World.

We were 'lucky' enought to be there during the storms.  We had damage in our bathroom = water was running down the walls in the end.  We reported it to PW on the Monday.  Guys came round that afternoon, said it was a leak in the staircase and scheduled to repair it later that week after we had gone.

No mention to us about claiming it for insurance - they said it was a fault in the cement on the staircase.

 PW also seemed to be checking the apartments they had keys for to check for water damage.

It is not just Polaris. even the  UK builders 10 yr guarantee is the same

As you so aptly put it Not worth the paper it is written on.

However Polaris did rectify the damp in our apartment &  were re tiling stairs in another apartment in our Jardin so it still maybe worth reporting it "just in case "

Got back on Friday, had a fantastic few days despite the weather. Maybe we've been lucky but we've never had a problem with PW (touch wood) regarding repairs etc. They have always sorted them within a week of reporting. Last Monday during the torrential rain we had leaks around the bedroom window. We reported it in the morning and two hours later a couple of chaps arrived to sort it out. Speak as you find and all that...

Flying out on Friday and just of the phone to June(Cuz) who told me it is scorching and she has been in the pool.  Looks like all that nasty rain has disappeared at least for a while.  4 more sleeps

We've been luck with everything and haven't required PW to do much for us, so just a wee bit disappointed that they are not honoring there guarantees after only a year and some people haven't had their property that long, does seem a little harsh.

hi  i was over in the rain and had water come in the front bedroom light from the apartment above i contacted polaris about this and was told it would be sorted but 2 days later i phoned again and was told to contact insurance not done owt yet about that but gonna do it all tuesday but am peeved off cause of the 10 yr gaurentee so so mentioned bad workman ship but all i got was phone ins but am not a happy chappy am gona email polaris an see wot happens aswell

did you see the picture on condadodealhamaservices.com/blog/ - looks bad enough - hope most properties escaped any serious damge
