Hola

Any news on the opening of course.

Can you turn up and pay green fees?

Will all 18 holes be in play?

Will you have to tee up on fairway?

Will they hand out small plastic mats to place your ball on as is done in winter on some courses to save fairways?

Is it open only to those who have completed?

Just wondering

hartyd

Hi hartyd

From various posts and e-mails (anybody welcome to correct me if I'm wrong)

There is no "grand opening" of the course planned as yet but the front nine holes should be playable from November 9th by those owners and their guests on production of the residents identity card that is given to owners that have completed on their properties. The back nine are still having work carried out on them such as the bridge over the watercourse across the eighteenth and will be playable when work is completed. Some guests of Calidona will also get invitations to play at the developers discretion. Until the end of the year there will be no fees payable but play is limited to the formentioned card-holders and/or guests but will remain closed to the general public.

As for local rules (t-mats etc.) you will probably only find out when you turn up at the ("pro-shop") sales office where they no-doubt won't have a clue what you are talking about.

Hello Steve and Jane

Just trying to work out what exactly you are saying by '

As we will be over soon and hope to play  and having played in Roda a lot we always found the staff very helpful. I do not understand what you are trying to tell us.

I think Steve means that there isn't a pro shop.

Until Corvera set up a temporary pro-shop they will probably hand out the permissions to play at the sales office as they do the driving range tokens at the moment. Or does anybody know if they have set up a temp. pro-shop?

I don´t believe that there was a formal openning and I couldn´t see anybody playing the course today but it has not been idea golf weather, bright but VERY windy with gusts over 30mph

Perfect golfing weather then Roy.

Gives you a good excuse for that slice or hook shot ! "Where did that gust come from?"

Looks like the fairways are only going to be given one more month to mature before the masses are allowed to trample it.

The green fees have been set for 2010 at 39 euro per round or 90euro for 2 + buggy. See Clubmurcia.com homepage for details.

Let's hope the management and greenkeepers know what they are doing.
