Storm Damage - Advice wanted

Hi All

Looking for a bit of advice.  When out in Oct, we discovered that we had suffered a bit of damage due to the storms/heavy rains.  The stairs to the sun terrace are obviously not sealed properly, resulting in mould/damp patches in the bathroom and alcove in the sitting room.  We have arranged for PW to come out and have a look later this month.  Has anyone else had the same problem and if so what did PW do/how long did the work take?

yes same problem, we're in Naranjos 4.  The water was running down our walls but we were there so at least we could mop it up.  PW can out on the monday and said work would be carried out shortly.  My sister was over a week ago and said nothing was done but that a man came to have a look and said work would be starting soon!

We're not back for a while so will not be able to check on it so keeping our fingers crossed.

Carol Millar, our key holder discovered mould in our appartment earlier this year & though there was quite a lot of work to be done to find out where the damp originated from ,there was no sign of damp or the fact that part of our wall had had to be removed.

Unfortunatly Carol discovered damp again shortly after the storms

I contacted Olga at PW . She promised to get it sorted out on the 4th of this month.

Your thread has reminded me to check that the work is now finished as we are out for ten days at the begining of December.

Will let you know if work is finished & Carol`s valuable respone as to how well the work has been carried out

Good afternoon

As promised I thought i aught to let you know that Carol Confirmed that some one did call into our apartment on the date & ttme promisd, however nothing was done. They did promise to contact her when they were able to return.

She has suggested though that I get in touch with Olga again as our winter break looms ever nearer.

We had the same problems with damp last year - Carol found mould under the stairs and in the bathroom.

It took a few weeks for Polaris to come as there were a few of us with the same problem.  They ended up stripping back the staircase to the concrete and sealing it with a proper damp proof coating which hadn't been applied before.  They then built up the steps and retiled them.  They finished off by painting the gable end and the full staircase.  Inside, they repaired the ceiling in the bathroom and understairs in the living room. 

This weather has been a good test for us so hopefully our problem has been sorted.
